Ou Est Ami?

Glad to see you back, Ami.:rose::kiss: I've always thought you were completely hilarious and "almost" working with you made me see another side of you, one that I really liked; it would have been a shame to lose you.:rose:

The medical facilities I have utiized, in the United States, are indeed, state of the art facilities and procedures, all of which I have been paying for via insurance programs for forty years, thank you.

We are a passionate people and are about to go to war with each other again over the attempted imposition of socialism on a free society, an issue over which there is no debate, no compromise; one is either free or slave and there is no middle ground and each of you need to take a side and defend it.

Actually, there is a middle ground, and you're standing on it. Your health insurance plan is a form of socialism, in the sense that you all pool your money, and then the money is allocated according to need, not according to how much money each individual contributed.

"Aha!" you say, "This is voluntary socialism." Yes, it's voluntary in the sense that you can go through life without health insurance, (and risk losing everything you own if you have a catastrophic medical emergency) but you have chosen socialism as your health care solution, so the fact that it's voluntary is irrelevent.

Ami, my friend, you are a card-carrying socialist. Not only that, you are a slave to your success, forced into accepting an ideology you detest as a means to protect your assets. You have utterly and completely compromised your principals. You are the epitome of everything you rail against - a helpless captive ensared in a socio-political structure you have no control over.

Ami, my friend, you have already lost the war, but please don't take your gun and put a bullet through your own eyes. Think of the poor cleaning lady who would be stuck with the mess.

Oh...I almost forgot. Welcome back.

You forgot to add that he is also one of those despicable addicts that abuse themselves with a horrible drug (nicotine).

P.S. Best wishes and glad to see you're okay Ami. Now stay healthy and stop smoking!

Looks like ami and I have three things in common now. A language, biochemistry and we both smoke.

Oh wait. I smoke a pipe. Something only effete, homosexual socialists do.

Still only two things then. ;)

...or famed Russian communist leaders?

DeeZire...your ignorance of the subject is startling, to say the least and that was a low, low, attempt to transfer your guilt over the use of force in your own philosophy.

Even a cursory search will show you that 'shared risk', is a product of free trade since its inception. Those caravan traders in the desert, thousands of years ago, to protect themselves from pirates and raiders and high taxes in variius towns, banded together to insure themselves, by sharing the risk of doing business.

So it was throughout the shipping age and once enough free market intellect was accumulated to understand actuarial tables and risk in various trades, entrepreneurs volunarily paid to insure or share the risk of business ventures.

Dictatorships an socialist regimes, even today, simply take all the wealth and property and distribute it according to who sucks and brown noses the best. But then, you are good at both and thus. that would seem an attractive system for you to participate in.

such a deal...

Amicus....

SB?
I thought you loved me. Now, you're calling me a despicable addict?

You stop smoking, too! We can't have valued Lit members shortening the time we have to be entertained by them just to keep Big Tobacco in business.

I do, dear. That sentence was in Amicusian. In english it translates into "I wish you wouldn't smoke because I don't want anything to happen to you!"

not worried about quitting right now, but i will... eventually.
my pdoc actually told me not to worry about quitting right now, when he took away some of my pretty, little pills..
the bastard.

I have bigger things to worry about than smoking.

I've already lived ten years longer than I should have.

Ami - as usual, I am confused by your accusation. Am I good at sucking and brown nosing, or were you talking about my skill at taking wealth and property? Actually, it doesn't matter, because I'm no good at any of those tasks. It's your Wall Street friends who are good at taking wealth and property, not me, and it's your friends at Fox news who have made a science out of brown nosing.

In the future, you might consider how ridiculous it makes you look when you falsely accuse people of doing things they don't do. But hey, it's your image that suffers when you adopt the tactics of a third-grader.

Speaking of tacky tactics, let me apologize for accusing you of practicing socialism with your health insurance. It's not actually socialism in the strict sense of the word, it's a form of socialism, in that an authority collects the money and then redistributes it arbitrarily, with the distributees having no recourse as to the equity of the redistribution. I thought surely you would be able to see the connection, but apparently I underestimated your cognitive abilities. Sorry about that.

Be well, and for God's sake, put those death-sticks down. The circus just isn't the same without you.

ETA - Ami, dude! This is your quote from the 'Live Palin' thread.

as usual the suspects ignore the point and make a personal attack.

Although you were lamenting the lack of civility in that thread, this very quote could be applied to your baseless personal attack on me in this thread. Thank you for clarifying the issue.
