Oscar Peterson

I attended many of his London concerts at the Festival Hall. The best seats were not the stalls fronting his band but the uncomfortable 'choir' seats at the side of the stage... close enough to his almost sub-vocal crooning as he caressed the keyboard... that is what I remember, Petersons growl as liquid music flowed from the piano. The man was sublime. :rose:

Oscar was one of the few world-famous Canadians.

He was a great ambassador for his country and for Jazz.

One of the best there ever was and a truly wonderful man.
Rest in peace. :rose:
