Oscar Party!

I'm using it as an excuse to watch a DVD. When we get to Oscar night, I realize that, despite good intentions on seeing some movies that look interesting, I haven't. I didn't watch The Deerhunter until 15 years later--and I actually helped in the production of that.

Yay! Rango wins best animated feature!

I have seen four movies nominated for awards -- Rango, Kung Fu Panda 2, Hugo and HP and the Deathly Hallows pt 2. It's been a fun show so far.

Post Oscar opinion: actually, a very nice awards ceremony. I appreciated cirque de soliel over some kind of dance number, though I didn't think their performance the best. I liked the musicians in the balcony with electric keyboard and violin--providing the viewing audience with transitional music (i.e. in and out of commercials).

I liked the staging in that the screen was often an interesting background, like a book of music. The presenters were entertaining, speeches were short, and some were pretty great. Christopher Plummer's was terrific. And I like that though there were no great surprises, I didn't feel like anyone was outrageously cheated out of an Oscar or that an Oscar went to someone who really didn't deserve it. That's always nice. :cattail:

A pleasant evening.

I only turned it on for the last three awards, but those were the big ones, and I felt I'd seen enough.

Lopez's stylist says that dress thing was only an illusion. (But she thanks people for noticing.)

I am trying to pretend the leg never happened. I'm trying real, real, hard... :(

Yep, she should get a Raspberry award for bad acting on that. So insecure even with all the attention she gets. Whenever Brad was being interviewed (that I have seen on clips), there she is, almost reaching for the mike.
