Orphan Black

Tried it because it kept popping up on my tumblr dash in gifs and praise for the main actress. Turns out to be the most hokey, immature shit ever. At least when Arrow makes people too smart, they have that whole "island training for 5 years!!!" thing to fall back on. OB pulls it out of its ass with really unlikable and bland characters making improbable dramatic decisions for no reason. I almost lost it when she went to the police station to face the charges suicide clone was responsible for and nobody bats an eye to her looking like she's met everyone for literally the first time and gaping like she has no idea what's going on. Like "yep, that's her. That's suicide clone. Totes." I had to angrily stop when foreign accent clone dies in like the second or third episode. It's literally a 13 year old dressing up and making dramatic faces and fake accents at herself in the fucking mirror.

I had so much hope for OB so sorry if I'm bitter.

Oh no!

Really?

I couldn't watch Arrow.

You'll have to explain who is too smart though.

That's cool if you're bitter. There are a lot of things other folks love that I can't stand.

Did you ever make it to the craft room torture, because that's worth the whole thing.

Anyway, I can understand betrayal. My condolences for your lost brain cells.

As a gauge, what would you consider to be a good show?

That's alright. Again sorry for ranting in your thread. Arrow only kept me because the main guy is a muscley puppy. They literally leech the depth out of everything by characters stating their motives and giving reflective speeches during arguments.

Shows I like are Hannibal, AHS, Bates Motel, game of thrones(that one was a secret). I just recently got into the 100 and holy shit! I love everything about it!

I don't know how to explain why OB had people feeling and acting "too smart" but none of their decisions felt like those that real people who weren't actors on a tv show would make. *shrugs*

Oh, no problem. I'm familiar with ranting, I do it myself.

Arrow came after Smallville, right? I had trouble with that. I see no reason for Superman to have any angst whatsoever. "Oh no I'm invulnerable, handsome and powerful. Poor me!"

I'd watch for James Marsters though. (Buffy...)

I love Hannibal. Probably the most beeyouteeful thing filmed in that horrific way I love. Not as smart as the books, but they use the visual medium with panache, so fuck the fact that their psychology is crap. Who cares, look at that tree made out of guy.

I love AHS!

Haven't tried Bates Motel but I will.

Couldn't tell if you liked the show Game of Thrones or the Books. (Should have checked your join date, so books.) Two entirely different things, but both with merit. I have the books nearly memorized so watching is like "What the hell? You had excellent source material and you did THAT? Cool dragon bro."

I'll have to give 100 another try. I didn't make it far.

I don't love OB for the plot, but I do love the acting.

My favorites would probably be The Wire for best writing, plot and acting.

Supernatural for the most feels.

Obsession worthy show.

Anybody else watch?

I love it. If only for the privilege to see Tatiana Maslany play all the clones. And watching one clone pretending to be another clone is just gold.

Season 2 was a bit muddled but I'm looking forward to season 3.

Yeah, for me it's the acting, and I do like the writing...not because it makes sense, but because it defies sense. In that way that I don't like watching stereotypes happen without being defied.

I also like to see the technical aspects of how the hell they put it together, stuff like watching how they assembled the clone dance party.

The actors themselves are also ridiculously cool, so that doesn't suck.

Orphan Black rocks. It's my favorite show.

I've missed the first 2 episodes, I'll have to catch up on them asap.

I've probably watched through both seasons...4 times?

My favorite episode involves the glue gun and the nail gun.

I'll revisit Orphan Black after I finish Daredevil, which has pretty much spoiled me on how a series can game change. :D

A co-worker had given me the first five OB Season 1 episodes he downloaded to use on his iPod Touch. They were interesting, but I didn't stick with it due to distractions. Sounds like good stuff, gotta catch up.

They are absolutely both great.

We're only partway through Daredevil, but I've really enjoyed it. Except the fact that his ears are covered by his hat. Seriously? C'mon guys. He uses those.

However the entire series has been basically spoiled because...internet. We've been watching an episode a day or so and a bunch of people blew through in 24 hours.

I think they're my favorites just because of the quick change, fast kill, create a character, kill a character, but make them all interesting sort of thing.

Daredevil has been renewed for season 2!

You should also really check out Galavant.

Galavant!!!! I love that show

How did you get on the horse?
I slept on the horse."

I have watched that episode about 3 times and I can't stop giggling.

"We're the lords of the sea!
Just not of the actual sea..."

The pirates are my second favorite.

And seeing Timothy Omundson go from being a Knight of Hell in Supernatural to "Oh, poop, I got gravy on my tummy flowers" is the BEST.
