Its 5 minutes to 3... and I just got home from work..... the roads SUCK BIG ASS!!!! But I did make it home safe and sound... I had to buy new tires and chains today just to get around... if this freaking state would just use salt on the roads the ice would melt... screw the damn trees...... ok sorry I just had to get that out... hope everyone else is safe

fuck that ! NO salt... and I am not saying it for the trees.... you ever see what it does to cars ?

I grew up with it in PA and it cuts the life of your car in 1/2 at least !

Lincoln City

is a nice town... esp if you want to go shopping....

but Pacific City is where the action is... that's where my AV of me in the air was taken.... the surf is just the absolute best at Cape Kiwanda (sp?)....

well welcome Steph... I can tell you the Rose City is much nicer than CB anyday....
nicer weather for the most part and way way more things to do....
hell... we even have the Ace of Hearts.... not something you will find in CB.....

of course.... you do have the New Carrisa.....

Who cares about the freaking life of a thing if the life of a real human being is in danger? I am with her on it.... I live in a state where they also dont salt, and just use sand on some intersections.... bloody hell dangerous.
I miss my home where we had excellent road service...

(hm, I might have to reconsider considering Oregon for grad school..)

well you could just stay home....

and we have ice like for 2 days every 3 years or so.....

I have been driving in it for like 25 years with no studs, no chains, and no snow tires and have never had an issue.....

From the looks of things I would guess that everyone survived the ice storm! :)

im a noob...splain

hmmm... sorry.... you would not have been there when it happened altho it was in the papers all over the world.....

3 - 4 years ago a huge oil tanker was way off course and ran aground off of Horsefall beach (near the North Spit) and in the end broke apart. They did manage to pull the nose out to sea and sink it (after a big hassle) so the oil would solidify and not go anywhere.... but they were not able to get all of the oil off of the ship and the beachs took a terrible hit.... the oyster farmers (Qualmen Oyster Farms - I think) ultimately had to sue to recouver damages because the oil came into the bay and contaminated the oyster beds.... anyway it was a big mess and alot of precious wildlife died as well as a huge amount of money was spent....

The New Carrisa was the name of the ship.... and the tail section still sits in the surf.... as a reminder of the power of nature....

Oakridge is 30 miles east of Eugene on Hwy 58
Did anyone hear about that poor guy that got hit by a Semi Truck on the freeway? I think it happened Monday on I5

Ups, sorry, I am in with him on it..

yep... got it... and just for the record.... if it was a matter of life or death... I would be for the salt too....

but in his case I do not think it was that way...

and I drove in the recent ice storm... and many areas were not too bad... but other than the snow last year, this was the worst we have had in the past 10 years....

Ok this is pretty sad....... NO ONE has posted on here for days. Cmon Oregonians are we that boring?
