I've been roaming about online trying to find the most reliable-looking flower delivery company. Does anybody have any recommendations? I'm looking to ship flowers to Australia to my darling. I have found a few, but I'm just not sure which one will be most reliable in terms of delivery time and quality of product.

Thanks so much!

I tried ordering flowers on line and had a difficult time getting everything to piece together.

So, I went to the florist.

Quicker
Easier

And I already knew what I wanted.

I would go with FTD, always. Even though they may be a bit more pricey, should the flowers be substandard, they will be replaced.

:)

My absolute favorite.....

I've used them everytime I sent flowers to my Mother. I want them to be perfect, and everytime I was not disappointed. My mom, a dedicated flower buff, always marvels at the richness of their bouquets, and the quality of the individual flower. I recomend them highly!

Here is an idea!

Everyone chose your favorite on line florist.

Send me the flowers.

I will let you know which are freshest, last longest, were delivered in a timely fashion etc

I promise to be objective in my assessment!

Okay? Pm me for the addy!

;)

Basically, here's what online flower places do:

They take the call, set up what you want, and where it's to be sent, and collect payment.

Next, they look in thier directory for the nearest flower store to that person, call the order up to them, pay them less than you paid, and the flowers get sent from a local shop over to the person.

It works just like FTD.

So, in reality, it's exactly the same as going to a local shop and having them 'wire' the order to a local shop of hers.

The online company doesn't actually make the order, or send the finished product.

Yup, I use proflowers. I used them for international delivery for the first time just this past week. I ordered flowers on Friday for a relative in Germany. She got them yesterday, as promised. And she called to let me know they were so fresh and gorgeous!

Don't forget to look online for the discounts you can get. Proflowers has a 20% discount if you use your mastercard to pay for the flowers. Other discounts are available for 10% off your order or a free vase (normally $9.99).

I didn't get a discount on the international order though. I found the 20% discount AFTER I'd already ordered the flowers for Germany. The other discounts didn't work for the European partner of proflowers.com, either.

Other internet companies also have similar discounts of 10% to 15% so do a google search first.

Wrong. The flowers for proflowers.com and several other internet flower brokers are sent direct from the grower by Fed Ex overnight delivery. They do NOT come from the local florist. Roses come from Miami, for example, no matter where you send them in the U.S. They are much fresher than those you get at the local florists as you have eliminated the middleman completely. IF you need same day delivery though, you CAN get that from the internet sites. Those would have to come from local sources. I would not choose that option.

I use proflowers.com as well. Once when I needed nextday delivery they did it at a very nominal charge. I was really impressed...so was she.

I haven't checked, but I bet you need to order by today to get delivery for the 14th due to such high volume of shipping tomorrow.
