Opportunity Lost

As I was listening to music today a thought struck me. I was listening to “Boom, Boom” by John Lee Hooker, probably one of the greatest Blues men who ever lived, and I found myself wishing I had gotten the opportunity to see him perform live in a real blues club somewhere. In his career he recorded over 100 albums and influenced the careers of many rising musicians in the 1960 and 1970s including Bob Dylan, Van Morrison and Canned Heat. In 1991 he was inducted into the Rock N’ Roll Hall of Fame and received a star on the Hollywood walk of fame in 1997. He was a truly remarkable man and I would dearly loved to have meet him or seen him perform. But John left this world in 2001 so the opportunity is gone forever. :rose:

Is there anyone that you greatly admire that you wish you had the opportunity to meet before the opportunity was lost?

Wow. That's a hell of a question, Ducky. I think it's gonna take me some time to narrow it down.

Colenel David Hackworth.

But I was in the audience for one of Stevie Ray Vaughn's last two concerts.

I'm green with envy. I was going to say I wished I'd seen Stevie Ray Vaughan.

I'll join the SRV fan club for now. I'll think on it some more though.

Harrison, man, you have a point. But he was such a private man.

i associate him with my father a lot, that might be why i've always connected with his music so much.

Saw him play once, but it wasn't nearly enough: Randy Rhodes.
