If someone signed off on an email "luv ya" how would you take it..just friendly...more than friends...something else entirely? Rather dumb question but it's bugging me enough that I can't sleep.

"luv ya" isn't much in my book. I use more with my friends. My list of progressions:

luv ya
love ya
love you
I love you
let's get married!

:)

That was my though too...but at 2 am...my judgement is not to be trusted! :)

Yeah, "luv ya" is just like buh bye, or see ya later, or peace... A lot different than "I love you". Or even "love you".

I use it in emails a lot with female friends, and even a few very close male friends.

Hope this helped.

Luv ya, buh bye!

Oh... I guess I was misinterpreting your "luv ya's" then. <gulp.. sob>

Sighhhhhh...

Luv ya

I often type Luv Ya at the end of my emails to say "Hey I appreciate you" But Love you means there are feelings. So ladyhawke Luv Ya even thought htis is not an email. So if you ever email me, I will usually end it with Luv YA

I don't end my pm's or emails that way. If I do then it means I carry some kind of affection for you. I think it depends on the person sending and how your relationship started out or if this is the first time receiving email from them.

I had someone who never signed his email or pms with any affection for months..then he started signing off with "love ya". I took it as a shift in our relationship. But I never asked him about it. Just noticed it and have went on. I use the words "I love you" almost never. If you hear that from me..your in deep shit. :D

I grew up with a grandmother from Scotland who had her brogue till the day she died. My parents also had several friends from Scotland while I was growing up. As a result I sometimes refer to people as love. It had never been a problem till i began chatting.

Then one day a friend I had been chatting with who lives with his SO in another country suddenly asked me if I was in love with him. LOL I thought I had missed something and said I love talking to you and I consider you a good friend but no I am not in love with you. Boy was he relieved. It took me a while to find out what brought it up.

We type like we talk sometimes without even thinking. We say the things we normally say with inflections in our voice and body language that explains our meaning. Personally I never assume someone loves me unless they say "I am in love with you." I figure I am safe that way.

If there is a mutual understanding of what it means, saying "I love you" doesn't always mean "I'm in love with you."

It feels pretty good to say it that way.

That goes along with my thoughts! Although I might substitute lust in some cases!:D

Strange

But without knowing the content of the email it's hard to judge what was meant by it as I have friends who do use it and others that don't.

Personally I don't use love unless I mean it. To many ppl use it to liberally like it's hello. If I say I luve you well you can take it as true but thats just me.

but I do...I do love you!

Guilty! Yes...I've said love ya...but usually to the ones I feel the closest to.

I think there is a difference between I love you...and I'm in love with you. There are different levels or degrees of love. You can love a friend...and that kind of love is different.
