Opinions on Category--I'm confuzalated

The story is 16K words and lesbian themed with a major sci-fi angle. It is the first act of a three act novel. It contains three downplayed sex scenes: hetero, female masturbation, and lesbian.

I can't decide on the category. It is written with lesbian interest in mind. Specifically, feminist ideology in a theocratic society where queer are outcasts; likened somewhat to our own struggles as a country against racism in the sixties--consider what would happen if fundies came to power.

Opinions? Suggestions? The story is finished; I just can't decide on a cat.

that's a toughy. take away the hetero and i'd say lesbian, but with the hetero i think you almost have to stick it in scifi to avoid whiners taking a big dump on you for the het stuff. of course, i haven't read it because i'm feeling lazy, but judging from your description that would be my choice.

No doubt, I need to expect to get trolled at either place. I would probably have to post under a new alt to get away from the folks who seem to gift their lovely ones--my private fan club (of course, maybe I just suck *smile*).

Anyway, I love posting here because you get so many reads and find folks willing to help you improve.

Scifi seems the better fit considering the tenor of the hetero sex scene, which is sweet.

Based on your description, I'd go sci-fi. As has been said, it's best to avoid mixing hetero in with the lez. Plus, the sci-fi readers are quite fun. In my limited experience (one story) they seem to leave more comments, and more interesting ones.

Thanks PF. This is my second scifi. I spent a lot of time on this one and would like to get it in the right place. The other was a shorty.

Considering the storyline, it would be difficult to remove the hetero scene. I'll just take the hits.

Anyway, it was good practice, being only the second hetero scene I have written.

Sorry, I wasn't too clear with my post was I? I meant to advise (as had already been noted in the thread) to avoid posting a story that inludes hetero sex in the lesbian category.

The story is getting some needed editing before I post. Things I missed despite my best effort! Who invented all those damn rules of grammar anyway? Shoot-fire, must've been a sadist.
