Being pratically wind whipped into the Cafe!

Yours truly has had quite the wild couple of days!

I hope everyone has been safe and sound...

I shall get a menu together for the weekend. I know that normally that is when I have off, but I shall make an exception because I have neglected my duties.

TOG, I do hope you found some of the dishes I had left in the fridge and freezer? The do wonderfully when reheated.

We're not in Kansas anymore.

I have been munching away
all week on your delicious dishes.
One of my primary jobs at home
is to keep the fridge tidy
by finishing up the bits and pieces
that get forgotten
in those odd plastic containers.

Did you get any snow out of yesterday's festivities?

<pouting> No SNOW! I wish though!! Today was very windy, but not as brutal as yesterday... and to tell the truth, I LOVED it!

I love the cold air whipping around me. I can't wait to be up in your neck of the woods for Thanksgiving. It will be awesome. The family that keeps an eye on our family home said that A LOT of snow is on the mountain right now. Believe it or not, the cold, snow, etc makes me feel so ALIVE.

But I digress......


Weekend Menu:

SOUPS:

* Cabbage and Bean-Thread Soup

* Egg Drop Noodle Soup

SALADS:

* Cheese Tortellini

* Amsterdam Pasta Salad ( rigatoni, tomatoes, cucumbers, red pepper, eggs)

ENTREES:


* Spinach and Noodle Ring (egg noodles, onion, butter, chopped fresh spinach, plain yogurt, salt, pepper, nutmeg) **Out of this world~

* Ukrainian Mushroom Dumplings

*Gardener's Delight ( onion, garlic, ripe tomatoes, zucchini, carrot, salt, pepper, basil, oregano, thyme, olive oil, parmesan cheese, rotelli pasta)

DESSERTS:

* Chocolate cake with almond slivers

* Deep Fried Ice Cream

* Cannoli (freshly made to order)

He would be 98, believe it or not.
He made it to 85, living a good life.
He's been gone 13 years, but he's with me every day.

walking in slowly... looking for a place to sit.... sad... lips trembling ... walks to an empty booth .... slides in... places head in hands...

Well, look at that.
Someone stopped in last night,
and fell asleep in the booth.

Fetching some fresh coffee and pastries, I gently wake her to be sure she's ok.

The smell of coffee stirs me, love the smell, never acquired a taste for it. Someone touched my shoulder... I raise my head from the table and see a man before me with a look of concern. What he must think of me....

I assure him I am fine... I ask for Hot tea instead of the coffee. Decline the pastry... not sure I could keep it down.

Sliding out of the booth I look for the restroom... the man directs me and I turn to go... but suddenly feel very dizzy. The gentleman steps towards me to steady me... his touch sends shivers down my body. Only kindness.... I say thanks and continue.

I enter the facilities and turn to see the image in the mirror. Oh my he must think I am a raving lunatic! I tend to necessities, brush my hair and tab some lip stick on. Looking again at myself I think why did I bother putting that on... yes I look pale. But it won't matter what I look like... no one wants me... desires me... why even try to look nice...

I quickly wash off as much of the lipstick I can ... so hard... my lips are red... I don't care... walk back out and return to the booth.

My hot water and a tea bag are waiting for me. Every one seems to be watching me. I try to not notice... why are they looking? Can every one tell I am worthless... worthless...

Enters the cafe and pours a coffee for myself....puts fresh coffee on to brew...
