Hello McKenna!

Nice to meet you ... I've seen you around the boards, but never shared a story with you ...

Hallowene isn't such a big thing here ... not for most people anyhows ... (UK) ... people tend to concentrate on Guy Fawkes Night ... fireworks, bonfires etc ... though personally I don't get involved in any of them! ( Not that keen on fireworks and it seems to go on for weeks, rather than just the few nights it used to. )

Having said that, I'm not a total misery guts!

Only just got news ... all good so far...

Nan recovered from the anaesthetic ... which was a risk ... and so far so good ...

All in all, I'm relieved ... looks good, though it's early days.

Thanks for your good wishes though ... trying times at the moment ... nice to be among friends ...

Smiling as I enter the room, the cafe having a distinctly different smell after having spent time in the kitchen.


So, patrons of the Blue Moon Cafe....

Tomorrow's specials are as follwed:

Appetizers:

~ Party Mix

Consisting of rice, oat, shredded wheat cereals, pecans, cashews, Worcestershire sauce, hot pepper sauce, garlic and onion salt.

~Potato skins

Potato twice baked with innards scooped out and blended with cheddar cheese and sour cream. Topped with scallions.



Entree:

~ Bean and Vegetable Burritos

chili powder, oregano, ground cumin, sweet potato, black and pinto beans, onion, jalapeno pepper, green bell pepper, fresh corn nibblets, lime juice, chopped fresh cilantro, Monterey Jack cheese, flour tortillas, and sour cream.

Desserts:

~ Banana-Rum Custard with Vanilla Wafers

~ Cherry rice pudding


Specialty of the House Coffee & Tea:

~ Viennese Coffee

~Spiced Apple Tea


**As a rule of thumb, nothing is made at the Cafe without the cook trying it in her own kitchen.

Twice baked potatos are out of this world.
Potatos have always been a fave of mine.
When I was a kid we pretty much
had potatos at every meal. But these --
these are from heaven.

Everything Alex makes really rocks.
And it's been a little slow the past
couple days, so there's lots left.

Most times here we have to operate
on a self-service basis, cause
we still don't have enough hands
to cover all the shifts.

But Alex has whipped up some
splendid meals, and the bar is
always open.

I can't yet decide on dessert.

It's certainly been a quiet day here,
but that's probably good.
It gives everyone a chance

My pleasure Mari..... sorry to hear that...hope everything will be ok.

My time online of late has been cut back too....going AWOL isn't good but at times it is the only option open to anyone....Have been there a few times myself.
