I need to start a new thread like I need another hole in my head, but I've been trying to work this idea out for a long time and I think I've finally succeeded.

In the tradition of the great Greek myths of old, I bring you 'Ye Gods'. This myth is similar in theme to the contest between Poseidon and Athena for the city of Athens. It too involves a similiar battle of wits. The pantheon of Greek gods and goddesses are in conflict over a small fictional island in the Aegean, just off the coast of Attica. The city's name is Erotiki Ormi. To end the dispute, Zeus proposes a contest with the winner taking the city.

The deities argue, as they always do, about what the contest should entail. That is until Aphrodite steps up. She explains that the people of Erotiki Ormi are unusual. For them, the sexual union has always been limited to one man and one woman, for reproduction only, without pleasure or love. (Don't laugh, it's what St. Augustine preached!) The goddess of love proposes that each god and goddess teach the mortals of Erotiki Ormi the multifaceted nature of sex. At the end of the contest, the townspeople will come together and vote for the best teacher and lover.

We'll need lots of gods and goddesses, but also plenty of mortals for this thread to be interesting. Sign up here and let the Sexual Olympics begin!

I'll get the thread started when we have a sufficient number to start.

Asahi

Asahi is a beautiful young virgin priestess, 19. She has long auborn hair and large brown eyes. Her body is slight but an ecellent shape. Young perky breasts, a finely curved ass. She's shy and quiet. Book worm type, and really never even considered marriage, she simply tended to the temple's chores. Temple of Eros. People of course rarely went there, no one was ever in love... no one here ever dreamed. How she hated this place. She sat in the temple a book propped on her knee,

"He valiently swept her off her feet, carrying her off to the palace... where they lived happily ever after."

A smile crept acrossed her face,
What a beautiful fairy tale.

Hercules

I would like to be Hercules. I would like to choose this character for reasons only my ego can explain. Anyways, you all know who Hercules is.

Good lord, Honey-B why do you do this! Whenever I try to cut down, you offer yet another.

Poseidon, yes Poseidon as long as I can keep my Nereids.

Two mortals and a god... Not a bad start. I myself will not decide who I shall play until we have more participants. As my dominatrix personality taught me, patience is a virtue.

Speaking of dominant females, I've always pictured Hera as something of a dominatrix herself. But then again, there's Aphrodite, the trouble-maker herself. I could always play an abused wife or Artemis who saves her - Ok, Ok - Maybe the real reason I haven't put down a character for myself is I can't decide.

HEY

ooc: don't you mean... demi-god. I don't think it would be right to call hercules a mortal.

*falls to knees, pleading forgiveness

A thousand apologies, King!
You are right, of course. I should not have called Hercules a lowly mortal. I'm glad you included him in this thread. This should be lots of fun.

I'm Back!

OOC: OK everybody, I'll tack the roll of the great and mighty Zeus, chief honcho of the gods. :D

I wouldn't mind being the object of godly affections. As long as Ares doesn't cast his eye towards me.

I'm play a mortal man, details to come.

Well sas we seem to be going towards the tv show theme, I'll be Xena. (we definitely need as Ares for this)

Honey-B it looks like you have a bevy of deitys. demideitys and notsodeities...when do we start?

Po Seidon

Hera

I haven't played a dominate woman in quite awhile, you know a really strong female. I think I'll go with Hera. Appropriate since I'm the wife of Fly in RL. Now, look out Hercules... I do Hera and he have some unfinished business.

Tonight, the myth begins.

Ye Gods, the legend of Erotiki Ormi...

I'm in

I'll be Persophine, the madin of the spring and Hades unwilling wife. ^_^

FYI Notes

Please note that I have changed the geographical location to an island to the Aegean (you can thank me later, Poseidon).

I need an Aphrodite! I used the goddess to set up the thread since the idea for the contest was hers.

We also have a request for an Ares.

Two locales for this thread, the island of course, and the gods and goddesses can frolic on Olympus when they're not playing with mortals. Just specify where you are so things don't get confusing.

Mortals are up for grabs, claim them, take them and move on. (Hercules, your mine, baby!). Once a mortal has been claimed, no moving in or I'll sick the Furies on you!

Gods & Goddesses: This is a real contest so make your writing exceptional. Also, the more mortals you take, the better your odds of getting more votes. I have no idea when the vote will take place. We'll see how popular this is.

Mortals that doesn't let you off the hook. The best mortal writer will be fed the ambrosia of the gods and achieve immortality.

Pet peeve: No Roman names for gods & goddesses please!

hey this sounds cool

Could i be a mortal human man? i'm 22 and this will be my first so far.

Basia! I am so glad you've chosen to play Persephone. As far as I know, as long as you walk the Earth, we will have beautiful weather.

Artemis is one of my favorites, Brat. The beautiful moon is yours.

Welcome, steve! Just head out to the island and prepare to be taken.

*packs up belongings

jumps onto the nearest boat and heads out to the island wondering, dreaming of what is to come...............shivers in anticipation and wishes time would pass by faster.

Hestia...

Ye Gods it gets boring being the "good one" all the time... Whatever was I thinking when I swore to remain a maiden for the rest of my days. *sigh*

Maybe it's time to let my hair down and see what I've been missing all this time? :D

*

arrives at the island and looks around and wonders where everyone is? where do i stay?

Take a look at some of the posts already on the thread. Just carve yourself out a niche in Greek society. I'd actually think it would be great to have a married couple whose relationship is transformed by the visitations of the gods and goddesses. If you want to interact with someone, private message them or ask them here.

* sets out walking

looking for other humans or gods. thinks about marrige and wishes he could find a woman to marry.

if there is anyone interested, let me know
