Before I go any further let me say that I agree with you Shaq. And think that we may want to PM everyone in the thread with a small generalized SL outline so that the rest know what is going to happen as we go. Of course leave out major surprises and allow room for interaction between characters.

Only thing I can think of is in X2 when Strykers military forces invaded the Mansion. Now mind you Logan and possibly Colassus were the only Adults - read over the age of 18- at the house. So invading the Mansion is possible, however in the CBs the mansion had an infinite amount of scanners around it to prevent such an incident.

Another thing I thought of, remember before they attacked the gov. made sure to capture Prof X and Cyke.

Also they made sure to wait until the blackbird left. Granted they didn't know exactly who was on the blackbird but they knew that only the X-Men would fly it so one or all of them would be gone.

They didn't know Wolverine had returned or was with the team so I would argue the only reason the gov. attacked the mansion in X2 was because they thought all the X men were either away or captured and they would never have attacked if even just Prof X was still in the mansion.

Shadowcat had a decent minor role but the ultimate cameos were in X2. Siryn and Collossus kicked ass!

IMO: That scene does not bode well for the quality of the movie.

If THAT is supposed to be a sentinel, represented by a background shaded object with 2 hovering flashlights in the distance and then at the end of the scene a giant severed head?

That is LAME!!!!

Remember the first X-Men legends game when that movie sequence had Wolvie about to get smashed by a sentinel.

THAT is a sentinel.

I want to see why mutants would be cowered by such a monstrous construct.


That scene is about to make me cry it was so horrible.

What would they have done if the movie called for Apocalypse?

Would they have gone all Wizard of Oz and just made him a booming voice of some dork behind a sheet?

yes, the opening sequence was great, but given what i know of Nightcrawlers abilities, i figured it was Mystique pretending to be Nightcrawler

actually, classically, mystique could do a limited copy of their powers as well....for instance, she'd be able to teleport short distances if she copied Nightcrawler's form...and keep in mind Nightcrawler is her son

I'm happy they took that away then.

That's making her a bit too powerful for my liking.

I like the idea of an omni morph like Apocalypse being able to take someone's form and being to copy their powers to a limited extinct. For him it kinda makes sense.

I'm already pissed how Mystique seems to be able to kick the ass of the entire world these days (look at her limited series where she cuts through armies more handely than Hulk ever did)

There's been two much Hugh Jackman already. Everyone already knows and likes Wolverine, the X movies would be a great chance to spotlight and increase the popularity of lesser known characters (and it looks like the next X movie will!)

Plus, Wolverine is getting his own solo movie.

Honestly, she should get a rated R X spinoff to do "the Mutant Massacre".

Make it more violent and less special effects driven and more of an emotional story.


It could be used to highlight the fact that the unpretty mutants have to live below the ground.

Its funny how mutants are a microcosm for prejudice and racism but even in their own community and outside of it mutants enjoy celebrity based on superficial features while others are further ostracized to the extreme even.

It'd give Storm a starring role (and give Halle a reaosn to stay), it would cost less to make (take place in the sewer, spend more money on makeup to make Leech, Caliban, Marrow, and Calisto (who they are using in this one) really look the part. The best character they could use for Morlocks as a villain? Chamber!)

Team I would have for the movie: Storm (Wolvie only as a cameo), Shadowcat, Beast, Angel (have him get injured, set up X5 with Apocalypse), Thunderbird (have him get killed)

Shit, just cause I'm feeling it I'll do a quick plot outline.

Dazzler: She's a famous celebrity personality but she hides a secret that she's a mutant.

Chamber who's been more and more ostracized since his powers blew out of his chest obsesses about her.

He and the other morlocks (including Maggot, Wolfsbane, Blink and Caliban. He would be so adorable!) go to one of her concerts.

Backstage Prof X and Storm visit her and ask her to help them with something. They tell her they know her secret and despite her being a mutant she's a really racist elitist and thinks cause she's rich and pretty mutant problems have nothing to do with her.

Chambers uses his psionic powers to learn this telepathically and he grows to hate her (but still love her). He knows that she would feel differently if she were ugly like the morlocks.

So he goes back and conspires with the Morlock leader: Sugar Man to publicly out Dazzler and then kidnap her and disfigure her.

Storm goes to the tunnels with a group to rescue Dazzler.

Theme setup: Sugar man will be a classic villain (think Danny Devito as Penguin) but the rest of them will just be kids who feel like outcasts cause they are so ugly. They will fight but really they just want to belong somewhere. Storm will have a choice: Help the kids who injured Angel and kill Thunderbird or turn her back.

She turns her back.

Throughout the movie I would make it a running plot line that Storm and Beast who is a genius would wonder how Sugar Man could have such advanced technology? They would setup future plotlines by noting his ability to clone (to bring back Jean and Scott!) and indicate it appears he stole the technology.

So after they beat Sugar Man (which would be a climatic battle but occur after only about an 1 15 minutes of movie time) the X-Men would be licking their wounds.

And then you would see a man in a dinner, wearing a trenchcoat talking to a doctor like guy. (I would have introduced him in earlier in the flick flirting with Rogue, admitting he's a mutant and being approached about joining the school but he'd say he was too bad a person with a bad past). The doctor would ask if he assembled them and then tell the man in the trenchcoat (Gambit of course) to lead them.

The Doctor would give him as payment a small metal canister (containing a cure for the legacy virus)

Gambit, leading Sabretooth (who would brutally kill the childlike Caliban in a really sad scene), Deadpool, X-Cutioner, Domino, and Black Tom Cassidy into the morlock tunnels and SLAUGHTER them. The main morlocks would fight and Chamber would send out a telepathic call asking for help.

Gambit would turn penitent and then fight to help the morlocks the remaining X-Men show up and help beat the Maurauders.

Say like 30 morlocks survive (including Sugar Man). Then Gambit starts getting scared telling the team about what "He" will do.

Mr. Sinister shows up and annouces someone used his equipment and he's pissed and he would completely decimate the X-Men and remaining morlocks.

Chamber would power up and combined with Gambit or something would blast everything and somehow escape but not beat him.

The X-Men would definetly be losers at the end of this movie though.

(Blink doesn't just teleport someone away cause she gets killed)

Personally, I always thought that should be a limitation of hers.

And I always thought she shouldn't be able to use them inside and they should take time to charge.

For upward motion that makes sense.

Riding the winds though?

She does it way too smoothly.

That's part of the reason the X-Men lost steam. they became too enviable (coincidentally this is why I'm against Rogue being able to touch).

If everyone is like Emma Frost beautiful, rich and powerful then the mutant thing loses its appeal.

I think Storm is easily Omega level and is probably one of the few mutants who could take on any given X-Team solo and hold her own but I would have liked to seen more power limitations and control limitations.

It was Magma's last post that I'm concerned about.

It seemed to slight the telepathic attack and hold I established with Jean and Xavier.

And to me it just rings fake. If the X-Men are that easy to infiltrate then put your weapons down mutants, there is no reason to fight cause the x geeks suck.

I'm really not in charge of the thread just the storyline.

I'm waiting on Chronicle.

My next post was going to be a gov. one and his post was going to be a gov. one.

I def don't think the thread will die, it just may take him a day or two to get back to me.
