A tiny campus town set in the woods of a quiet and quaint New England setting. A crime rocks the normally sedate townsfolk and an investigation begins. But not is all as it appears, the deeper the two detectives dig into the gruesome murder, the obvious each person invloved has...

Ulterior Motives

Thinking of a cast of six or less. Two detectives, one must be female, the other male. The criminal (male), the female or male President of the college and two local business owners, preferably one in banking or real estate, the second a shop or cafe` owner.

Any interested parties? I have a subplot in mind and will give that to each as they join, then would like that plot covered up by each writer as they develop thier individual characters and the investigation begins.

Twisted? Of course:) Sex? Up to each writer and their partners:) A mystery whodunit? Write with me and we'll find out!:D

I would like to join this, seems like fun. Doesn't matter what part I play really, but I would like to play the cafe owner if thats alright.

One Cafe' owner it is!

Make it as quaint or glamorous as you wish and your character the same:) I'll start the thread and contact you with your set of Ulterior Motives once we have a few more writers.

Thank You and Welcome!

I'd love to take on the criminal.
Do you have a preference for what he is? Or do I get certain perameters to create him?
Maybe some detail into the murder itself...
Either way, I'd love to do it.

Now, how can a girl resist this? First LWH and now Pooh. Not to mention the chance to write with someone new. Hi CheerWarren, nice to meet you. :)

...*sigh* I can resist anything but temptation, LWH. Count me in. If no one objects, I'll take the role of the female detective.

:kiss

Nice to meet you Lady_Kit. I'm sure we will have LOTS of fun in this as the 2 detectives try to figure out.....WHO DID IT???? (which turns out that we probably are all doing "IT" ;) )

Welcome All!

Pooh it would be an honor for you to be the criminal. The character is yours to create as you wish, please keep him as a "local" though? I'm already looking forward to what you come up with and writing with you again!

Lady Kit perhaps our third time will truly be the charm?:kiss: Welcome and I'm looking forward to being your partner in writing and law enforcement!

CheerWarren, Welcome to the Lit and the thread, please feel free to ask any questions you have or add to your character and setting as you wish! It's a pleasure to meet you and I agree...in the end we'll all be doing it! (hopefully)

kamalw1, replied to your PM and will be willing to help and work with you in any way I can...Hope it works and you enjoy it with us!

We have the detective roles filled, a cafe owner and the criminal, with kamalw1's indulgence we have our fifth and need only ONE more!

I'll post the opening thread to set the storyline and link the two together, then contact each with the subplots I have in mind (hehe)

Welcome and Thank You All!

Jerry Butler.
(hee hee, the butler did it)

Around 30.
He works a couple local bars, as a tender. Knows how to mix drinks and has the muscle to back up any brawls that happen to ruin the good time everyone is having. Hasn't had much trouble with the police. His record includes a few speeding tickets, and a DUI back in '94. He's been clean ever since.
Dropout from college, moved to this town to start over, and he has made something of himself. He has a nice little place of his own, and hopes to own his own bar one day.
He has a little money saved up, a couple thousand, but nothing big. Just an average guy in a small town.

Tell me if this is ok and if there is anything you want me to add, delete, or change.

Brooke Harris is known my everyone in this little town (what is the name of the town anyway???). She grew up here from birth, was an all-star athlete and also a cheerleader for her high school. After high school, she decided to stay in town with everyone she knew and loved. After a few years of being things from a secretary, maid, and even a janitor; she finally opened her own business: a small cafe called Brooke's Diner. Now at the age of 28, she is still known by everyone in town except new residents and her cafe is the hot spot to be. With long brunette hair, a dimply smile, and big brown eyes, she is cute to look at. Her body helps the matter even better as she stands 5'8", weights about 125 or so, has 36c cup breasts (they look and feel larger then they really are), and an ass that many of the guys in town would love to tap. Still single and earning a good amount of income, she appears (note appears) to be living the bachorlette's dream life.

How about my being the local real estate broker, salesman, mortgage broker, etc for the community and surrounding area.

Waiting to hear if that's acceptable.

Samantha Anderson

Samantha Anderson, Sam as she prefers to be called, is a no nonsense, hard working cop; its all she ever wanted to be. She is as tough as most men on the force, and many will say that the only cop more to be feared than Sam is her partner.

Her height, 5'6" in her socks, has never impressed any crook shes' had to face. Often they were too distracted by her long legs, full breasts and dark blonde hair. Few really considered how tall she was until they were flat on their back at her feet, and by then it was only the gun and badge that they saw.

Shes a local girl; her Daddys family had been here forever, so had her Mammas. She knew how the town worked, from both sides of the law.

James Logan is the president of the main bank in town. He has come to be known as a shrewd and often ruthless businessman. His family is from this town, and he knows just about everyone that resides there, although many people have come to dislike him over the years because of his business practices.

James is a man of average stature, about 5'8" and 175 lbs. He has chocolate-colored skin with dark brown hair and brown eyes. He often dresses in expensive suits and likes to fill his enormous house on the hill with antiques and art.

I think LWH wanted to be the male Detective. I didn't see him say he would, but I thought it was funny him making up this creative plot and all, and not including himself in it.
At least, that's what I thought.

Okay... then I'll wait to see if the realtor is extranious and if so just read along since I was the last to ask about a role.
Thanks pooh.

Sorry for the delay everyone!

Pooh's correct I have selfishlly claimed the male detective role for myself and Kamalw1 was good ebough to take the role of the banker.

I was hoping for a even match in male and female characters... (We might wear out two ladies with four men, or leave a pair out in the cold)

BUT, If you're willing to portray the realtor you are welcome Phoenix!

Perhaps if we kick it off we'll attract another pair of ladies and will have that even number?

I'll work a few more clues into the subplot (hehe, I LOVE to twist a plot) and we can run with it!

Pooh? Your character is excellent, just a touch of bad and enough good to make you wonder, average guy in a small town, I wonder (smiles)

Cheer? I think your character is perfect and love the feistiness in her, looking forward to seeing it in the thread as tyou develop her.

Lady K? I can't wait to slap the cuffs on you, ummm your character and see what kind of naughtiness I can corrupt your character with.

Kamal? Ruthless and shrewd, huh? ;) Just as any good banker up to no good might be. Perfect!

Looks like I need to hustle and get my own posting in order so will go to do just that!

Thanks everyone!

OOC:

Thanks. *S
Then my next post will be a bit of bio and I'll remain in the background until/if more ladies join in the story.

Frank Lassiter

Frank is a 31 year old officer of the communities police force, a veteran of ten years who joined straight from the academy and quickly made a name for himself. Standing six foot even he weighs in at a stout 195 pounds and is proud of the fact each pound is solid muscle, due to his rigorous routine of gym workouts and physical activities when not on the job. Black hair cut short and dark tanned skin give his pale blue eyes a startling appearance when he removes his mirrored shades and he has had his share of offers from the single women in town. He's turned them all down, confessing to having a "secret love" and despite the local gossipers trying their best has eluded them in giving that secret away.

Frank spends most of his free time at his small but cozy beach side cottage located beside Juniper Lake, a short distance from the city limits of the thriving college and medical community.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I'll be posting to the thread and will link it from here as well in a second post tonight...See you there!:)
Ok, Sorry for the delay But the Main thread is up and here is the link:
Ulterior Motives
I'll be sending each and everyone a few "clues" (via PM)that they'll wish their characters to conceal as the "questioning" begins and the natural order of "whodunnit" occurs. Not enough to control a character but enough to peice together the mystery as time progresses I hope;)
Who will appear to be the "dirtiest" of them all, hmmm?
Let's all have fun implicating each other and getting in each others minds AND pants!
Thanks ALL!:D
Richard Thomas:
I was just about the sole real estate and mortgage broker in the county. We hadn't "been discovered" as yet, but sales and refinancing was good enough to let me live well, very well with what I 'skimmed' off the top of each transaction and didn't bother to report to IRS. Tax free income is the best kind. Just have to be wise in how it's spent and not live to far beyond 'your means'. Nice not to have to worry about cash though.
My family had moved here when I was 6 so I was almost a 'native son' and to all intents and purposes treated as one.
I'd gone to the local schools of course, other than college, and being a big kid, always bigger than most in my class, in high school I'd played offensive and defensive tackle on our football team until Coach Richards had moved me to linebacker, again playing both ways. Coach said,"... having a line backer over 6'5" tall and weighting over 250 pounds charging a QB waving my long arms was enough to screw up any quarterback's mind and timing, especially after you've fallen on him a time or two."
My junior year we'd won the District Championship and my senior year we won the State 4-A Championship. Needless to say for two years we were heroes and got laid a whoooole lot.
I'd gone to college, been it ROTC to give me some extra spending money. Served a tour in the Army and come home again to start my business with my G.I. Loan.
Now at 33 and still a single I lived in an old farm house I'd bought from an estate on 30 acres of land that I leased out to two of the local farmers to cultivate and all was looking pretty good.
You're always on my mind, "ma petit", and I have been looking forward to getting you in my hands for too long to pass this up:rose:
Thank You for your patience, I now place myself in your capable hands:kiss:
Is the main thread going to be continued? What happened to everyone else in the town?
unfortunately it seems lady k's temporary leave of absence has been extended...without a key player the subplots I had devised won't work so I suggest we call this one a wrap. Sorry to disappoint anyone but RL tugs at us all and these things happen:)
Thanks again for the input and your time everybody!
