this is a story of a young enlish lad named Henry Morgan who's family is in debt kidnapped and sold into indentured servitude by the evil Lord Montalban.

Henry escapes and joins the crew of an english ship on its way to the new world, the captain is cruel and the crew mutinys and names Henry captain.

i of course will be Henry need all sorts of players from pirates to govenors to govenors daughters and all differant people that would be in the colonial carribbean during the 1600's this is an open thread if your interested post your character here in the OOc and I will have the thread started soon.

Name Henry Morgan
position Pirate/Privateer
age 21
height 6 foot 3
weight 180 lbs
hair color brown
eye color hazel

And if she can be the vicious pirate captain, can I be her first mate?

I'd love to be her second-in-command, too. ^_~

Jack Carver
31
long black hair, brown eyes, unshaven, unkempt.

A true pirate to the end, spends most of his time either on deck or sleeping below. Has a weakness for women and drink, is good with a sword, and decent with a musket.

I wouldn't mind playing the role of the the governors bride to be, Lady Sophia, as long as I'm kidnapped and held for ransome.

Angelique

I'm assuming we're waiting for baron to decide if he wants to wait for more people and if he'll let BBS be the Captain. ^_~

Oh, and yes, we'll gladly kidnap ya. ^_~

Uhm... didn't he say Henry would be Captain? His character?

But either way, I've got an idea for a character just to keep things interesting for you lot if you want it.

Name: Sir Edward Canteberry
Rank: Captain of the HMS Eagle
Height: 5'11"
Weight: 180 lbs
Hair: Brown and in a pony tail
Eyes: A cool brown
Physical appearance: He has the sailors body, a trim form attained by lots of jumping between lines and tightening rigging. In England he is unattractive for his rough looks, but some find it attractive and charming

Mission: To hunt down the traitorous crew of the former HMS Ranger. If they surrender the ship, they are to be brought back to England and put on trail. If not, his orders are thus 'Send her and her crew to the sea bed to teach all whom would betray the crown.'

I personally have a good deal of knowledge of the time period so I feel I could contribute, but what's the fun of playing a mutinous crew if England doesn't hunt after you?

Joshua Smith

Joshua Smith
5'3" 110lbs
18 years old (no worries, I'm legal)
Jet Black hair, Hazel green eyes

Christened Thomas Peter William Henry Jonothan James Windsor, Joshua is a direct descendant of William the Conquorer and 17th in line for the throne of England. His father, a Duke, was an advocate for the development of the colonies as the future of England and took his family to govern a colony in India. Thier ship was waylaid by pirates. Joshua was kidnapped and sold into indentured servitude at Jamestown. His mother and father were sold into servitude in Haiti, and eventually his father proved his lineage from the family crest tattooed to his right bum and returned to england with his wife, now an advocate for the end of the slave trade and the process of indentured servitude, establishing a few legal precedents that William Wilberforce would use in the 1800's to abolish slavery.

Joshua was 2 when he was sold into servitude. He was raised by black slaves and named Joshua. He served in the plantation fields until his master spied the tattoo on his buttocks and moved him into the household and taught him to read and write as a accounting assistant at the age of 7. His master started making very discrete inquires into a missing noble boy and was planning on using the return of Joshua for his personal gain. When Joshua was 10 there was a fire in Jamestown and his master perished, he and many of the slaves escaping. Joshua made his way into the hinterlands and ended up living with a french trapper out in the appalachian hills. He learned to shoot and track as well as speak french and german. Joshua handled the bi-monthly trips to Jamestown to sell the furs and barter for supplies. With his mathematical accumen, business training under his old master, and lack of an accent, Joshua was able to sell the furs at a much higher rate then his french partner.

When he was 13, after a successful day of bartering with a mule load of supplies ready to go Joshua stopped at an inn to stay the night before setting off. The inn was raided that night by the English Navy and Joshua was conscripted. He spent two and a half years as a sailor aboard the HMS Indominable, a massive ship of the line, learning all the posts a crewman could learn, from gunner's mate to boatswain. The Indominable shipwrecked off of Haiti, and Joshua made his way to Port au Prince, one of the largest ports in the Western Hemisphere. He joined the french pirates there, spending 2 years with the Flibustiers until he came face to face with the HMS Ranger. Joshua was captured in the ensuing firefight and found to be an englishman was re-conscripted into the English Navy.

Joshua is thin, but wiry. His short stature and amazing dexterity make him a natural for the crow's nest as well as climbing the rigging. He's a damn fine shot with musket and better with a rifle. He's a fair hand with a sword, cudgel or staff. He was aboard the Ranger for the mutiny.

Joshua is completely unaware of his true lineage.

Hmm... (just a side note to the "young" man Josheb... you're character will never be allowed to "have" sex if you don't change the age to 18... nooooo it isn't a requirement for SRP's to have sex with people to write. In my opinion there is enough sex on the boards to not even worry about it. *thinks to self will have to consider changing age in future SRP's* I just wanted you to be aware in case that was something you didn't realize. The rules of Lit won't allow your character to interact sexually unless they are 18 and over... no minors and sex, their rules, not ours.)

OOC:
Name: Katherine (Kip) Adams
Age: 18
Eyes: Green
Hair: Strawberry Blonde, (currently cut short)
Height: 5'0"
Build: Slim and petite, nicely formed in all the right places... if you take the time to notice.

__________________

Katherine Adams decided to take matters into her own hands and disappeared several months ago from her family. She’s been happily working along side the men of the HMS Eagle. No one realizes she’s not the young boy she pretends to be. She’s had to accept the easy banter of men, the cajoling of how many women they’ve bedded, and how they’re all going to pitch in one day and find her/him a whore to make the tiny bulge in his/her slacks grow.

She goes by Kip, keeps her strawberry-blonde hair cut short and tied back into a small ponytail. Her breasts are bound tight, leaving only a small curve to the imagination. She’s taken the time to sew in the necessary “appendage” in the two pair of breeches she owns. She works hard being the timid, shy, boy of the ship, and though she is 18 her tiny stature and petite frame helps her disguise.

She left home after her father informed her she’d be marrying the local magistrate’s son. After running away, traveling at night; living off the handouts of others as well as a small band of gypsies, where she learned how to “properly” disguise herself, she came across the English ship docked at port. After convincing the first mate of the HMS Eagle to let Kip on board as an underling she quietly blended in. She deals with things as they come up, thinks from the top of her head, and is quiet fast on her feet.

Having grown up in the country, the only girl to a group of eight brothers, she's an excellent marksman and a decent fencer. She prefers to talk herself out of trouble. Her mother was a teacher so she's very apt with not only reading, but with numbers as well.

Which ship is which?

Fixed it thanks for letting me know. Not that he's gonna run out and screw the first thing that moves, but having the option is nice

Hey, which ship is which? SO far we've seen the HMS Ranger, the HMS Eagle and the HMS Yorkton. If the boss could clear this up I'd appreciate it.

I think what they meant was that she could be a Pirate and not actually the leader of the crew that mutinies. After all, according to the first post, we will need pirates. ^_~

I'll post my character stuff later today.

im not sure about the HMS Yorton but Captain Morgan's ship is HMS Ranger and i think the HMS Eagle is a warship chasing the Ranger oh and sure there can be female pirates but we also need some females who arent pirates

You hadn't declared when I made my post the name of your ship so I threw in the Yorkton to hold a name. Thank-you for finally posting it last night :p (*goes back and edits it to Ranger*)

Alright, my Galleon will offer the support of a 'proper English warship', while Baron's can offer the pirates life for ye. I have the odd sense I am going to be very alone but all the better ;)

I'm thinking of having the Eagle bearing a pair of forward aimed 9-lbs cannon (a long 9 as some call it) and the other nine cannons to be placed along the gunwhales standardly, and maybe a small cannon to her rear mounted on deck. The Eagle will be slower, probably not getting to any speeds like the Ranger, but she'll outgun her almost two to one.

Oh, and as a note: Port Royal is an English Port that was mainly used by English Privateers. Going to an English Port with an English Bounty on your head will not end well for you. Just remember to keep this in mind while at port to those unwitting.

Alone?? Did you not notice the lad on your ship named Kip? Would you like me to jump ship;)

ah yes but since the mutiny just happened then the Governor of Port Royal wouldnt have gotten the news of it as of yet so there is still time for Capt Morgan to accquire an Letter of Marque from him and become a privateer

Lord Montalban

we need someone to play the evil Lord Montalban who has enslaved Capt Morgan's family

.....Red, you never said in your posts you were on the Eagle. I thought you were on the Ranger and had gotten on before the mutiny like most of the crew. My mistake ;)

As for a Letter of Marque, I would PERSONALLY consider unwise to take a letter of Marque from the British when you're manning a British ship you got through Mutiny. Especially since, if you've not been a port since the mutiny, it still bears the colours and face of a ship of the British Navy.

Which is bad for you.

Good for me because that means you get identified and my ship's trailing of you can begin, but bad for you.

ah good point need to change course and ditch the british colors and markings before becoming an english privateer will have to edit my post and change course lol

Now you've got a challenge. Since getting into a port to change colours is a very dangerous thing and there a few whom would do it. You enter a Spanish or French port you'd be fired upon thinking you're an English vessel, as well as a pirate port. I think you're best option would be to find some sort of uninhabited island set course there and do it be yourselves. You should, after all, have some sort of shipwright on board for replacing masts and such.

Ohh no... my mistake ;) Please forgive. I know you have great powers and I so don't wish them unleashed on me. ;)

I shall always remain loyal to my country :D Granted... I also don't want to be on a raping, pilliaging pirate ship... I'm to sweet and innocent to be a pirate *blinks lashes becomingly*

Just inform Kip where you want him (her) ;) and she'll/he'll be there... if you want special "ship" jargon by all means PM me and we can arrange that :)

ok that should do it i dont think the english would fire on their dutch allies :D
