6 January 2031: Anya's first appearance (Post #1)

• At 0935 Eastern Standard Time, Anya appears in holographic form in the General Assembly Room (GAR) of the United Nations Headquarters in New York City.
• She introduces herself and explains that her people -- called the Yalla, after their home planet of Yalla -- have been monitoring Earth for more than 100 years, ever since they first detected radio signals from Earth.
• Using a large holographic map:
  • She shows where her planet is relative to Earth.
  • She shows where the Preyna Empire is; they are a brutal species who control more than 300 planets and moons.
  • Some of these planetary bodies are or were inhabited by indigenous species; some of these species are or were intelligent, sentient life forms; and some of these species have been conquered, subjugated, and/or exterminated.
• Anya explains that the Yalla have a technology that has been blocking Earth-originating radio signals that would otherwise have been detected by the Preyna.
• She explains that this won't last forever, telling them that if the Preyna detect life and civilization on Earth, they will attack and conquer the planet, possibly exterminating the Human Race.
• To prevent this, Anya says that Earth must begin its devolutiontoward a far less technological status. This means:
  • An end to space exploration and settlement.
  • An end to all transmissions via radio, microwave, laser, etc.
  • And, because Earth can't support 8 billion people with these changes, the planet must reduce its population size by half within 100 years.
• A moment later, every cell phone, Apple watch, tablet, computer, etc., received a message from Anya. In it:
  • She recapped what she'd already told them.
  • She explained that the Yalla would assist the Humans in their work in ways that they couldn't even imagine.
  • She clarified that reducing Earth's population didn't mean exterminating 4 billion people; she said she would explain more to the Security Council when she met them in Bermuda the next day.
  • Oh, and btw, she told the SC members to get to Bermuda within 24 hours.

• She was in the UN's General Assembly Room when Anya appeared.

Anya -- Representative of the People of the Planet Yalla

• Humanoid shape, with legs longer than would be expected for her height.
• "Elf"-like ears, as the Press will describe her.
• Flawless, silver-gray skin.
• Super-fine, jet-black, straight hair; reaches to the middle of her back.

About her people, the Yalla:

• Her species is over 5 million years old.
• They reached Earth's current level of technology over 3 million years ago.
• They achieved FTLS travel, but what allowed them to really explore the world was their Matter Transport Technology.
• With it, they can transport an object or even a living being at a speed of 1 light year/minute.
• They discovered a brutal alien race, the Preyna.
• Since then, their greatest focus has been to prevent the Preyna from discovering, conquering, and sometimes exterminating other intelligent races.
• They have been monitoring and protecting Earth since the early 20th century.

About their technology:

• They have Matter Transport Technology, as spoken of above.
• They also have an AI-Eavesdropping Technology:
  • It can listen in on any device that has communication ability: phones, tablets, computers, satellites, laser communications, etc.
  • A super advanced AI feature allows the AIET to process what Human communications are important to the Yalla as a whole or any individual Yalla, then forward them that communication with explanations of what it means and recommendations on how to use it.

• Naturally white, wavy hair worn down onto her shoulders; as a young woman, she had dark auburn hair (which you can still see in her eyebrows and -- shhhhh -- her pubes, which she trims short but does not shave/wax.
• Pale blue-green eyes.

Personality:

• Confident, strong woman.
• Primarily heterosexual, though she is known to have also partaken of women during her life. (More on this later.)

Politics (and related notes):

• 2028:
  • Allison Dean is elected President of the United States (52%-48%).
  • The Democratic Party gains majorities in both the House and the Senate.
• 2029:
  • 20 Jan: Inaugurated.
  • With Democratic majorities in both the House and Senate, Allision is able to pass a wave of Democratic/Liberal supported measures into law, including but not limited to:
    • Single-payer health care: every American now has access to health care.
    • Rent and home purchase limits: the cost of renting or purchasing a house in most cases drops significantly.
    • DACA and other laws that streamline legal immigration while also battling illegal immigration.
    • More.
  • 12 Sep: Her husband of 25 years died of cancer.
  • Autumn: Stories began circulating about her sexual relationships with both men and women during her marriage and following her husband's death. Her favorability numbers plunge.
• 2030:
  • February: The House impeaches her, but the Senate fails to convict her.
  • November: The impeachment led to the Democrats losing their majorities in both the House and Senate.
• 2031:
  • 3 Jan: The Republican majorities are sworn into the House and Senate.
  • 4 Jan: The House initiates impeachment proceedings again!
  • 6 Jan: The Aliens arrive.

• Dedicated to her family and country.
• Heterosexual; she doesn't sleep around and never cheats on her current lover.

History:

• 2003 (January 1): Born in Marseilles, France, the only child of a career French Diplomat, Francois Dubois.
• 2019, age 16: graduated high school. Enrolled in University.
• 2022, age 19:
  • Placed "runner up" in the Miss France competition.
  • Began modeling: fashion, lingerie, and bikinis.
  • Was featured in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue for the 1st of 3 consecutive years.
• 2023, age 20:
  • Completed 2 licenses (bachelor's degrees).
  • Went to work part time for Le corps diplomatique (France's Diplomatic Corps).
• 2025, age 22: completed her écoles doctorales (PhD).
• 2028, age 25: with her father appointed to be France's Ambassador to the UN, she went to work as his Executive Assistant.
• 2031, age 28:
  • January 2nd, the day after her 28th birthday, her father suffered a stroke while in New York City for the upcoming United Nations General Assembly.
  • With his Deputy unavailable -- he was in Paris with a disabling flu bug -- she was selected to represent her country. (She is certainly capable of doing it.)

Note for those following along: Richard Connors is generally disliked by most everyone who has to interact with him on a daily basis. Many negotiations have instead been conducted with President Dean herself or her much less abrasive Secretary of State since Connor's appointment to the position, which is regarded by some as a concession to the Republican Party that is undeserved given what happened as late as 2028.

Richard Connors -- US Ambassador to the United Nations

(Note: this profile is only a "place keeper" for information about him, some of which is mine but most of which is from desperado1089. If desperado1089 decides to write him as a main character, he will post a proper profile for Richard ... Dick.

Personality and Interactions with other people:

• Misogynist and womanizer.
• He is a Republic Party member serving a Democratic Party President (which is spoken more of below).
• He is generally disliked by most everyone who has to interact with him on a daily basis.
• Many negotiations of international diplomatic status that should have been conducted with him were instead conducted with President Allison Dean herself or even her much less abrasive Secretary of State (as of yet unintroduced and unnamed).
• Connor's appointment to the position of US Ambassador to the United Nations is regarded by some as a concession to the Republican Party and that it is an undeserved position, given what happened as late as 2028 (aka the attempted impeachment of POTUS by the Republican Party).
• Regarding Associated Press reporter, Florence MacDonald:
  • Connors was once in a conversation with POTUS's Chief of Staff, Parker Brown, when Parker said about the redheaded Florence that he wanted to know whether the carpet matched the drapes." (Post #19)
  • Florence was unaware that Connors was the second man in the conversation, unable to see who it was and, actually, not caring.
  • Then, on the day of Anya's arrival, when Florence accompanied the UN Security Council to Bermuda, Connor asked Florence to the office assigned to Brown aboard Air Force One to speak with her. No one knows yet what occurred next; it hasn't been written.

Actually, my comment regarding "as late as 2028" was based on how the Republicans continued to stymie efforts to hold Donald Trump to account right up until he lost the election, and then attempted to aid his efforts to undermine and overthrow it.

  • Born in Seattle, Washington, the only child of a college math professor and a stay-at-home mother.
  • Grew up in a loving family.

  • As a sophomore in high school, she fell in love with journalism and photography
• 2019: After a disappointing sexual experience with a college boy during her senior year, she vowed celibacy until she was married.
• 2020: Began Journalism School at the University of Oregon.
• 2022: Got a job as a Features Reporter at the Eugene Register Guard.
• 2024:
  • Finished her bachelor's degree.
  • Began her master's degree.
• 2026:
  • Finished her master's degree.
  • Got a job with the Associated Press in New York City.
  • Moved to a tiny apartment in the West Village.
• 2028:
  • Began dating (without sex) a TV actor, Ned Gregory. Told him she wouldn't sleep with him until they married.
• 2029:
  • Ned pressured her into sex, which turned out to be both disappointing and frightening for her as he was rough and dominating, which was so unlike him otherwise.
  • They went their separate ways just days later when she made it clear she didn't want to fuck him.
• 2030:
  • After covering a White House event and being noticed by POTUS's Chief of Staff, Parker Brown, she was invited to travel with President Allison Dean on a Goodwill Trip to Syria.
  • She would overhear Brown say to an unseen man -- who turned out to be US Ambassador to the UN, Richard Connors -- that he'd like to know if the redheaded Florence's carpet was the same color as her drapes.

RP History:

• 6 Jan 2031, Anya's arrival day:
  • She was covering the United Nations for the normal reporter -- down with the flu -- and ended up becoming a part of the group that flew to Bermuda.
  • While on the plane to the islands, Ambassador Richard Connorsattempted to hit on her:
    • Anya -- monitoring Florence -- sent her a text message to ask him How's Denise?
    • Without knowing what it meant, Florence asked.
    • Connors went white and dismissed her.
