Welcome to Tech City, sister to Cyber City. Both citys are man-made organic island. They are also the only two city with legalized Cybernetic Technology. Cyber City's legal Cyborgs are exclusive to their police department, while Tech City have very uniqe technology to enhance people without having to alter their bodys, as well as Cyborgs. Both are legal in Tech City, for a price that is.

While you are vsting Tech City, please feel free to explore the shopping, and virtual reality district!

The screen fades as the lovely looking lady is waving her hand goodbye. In truth, beyond all the glory and beauty, Tech City is a place in pure chaos. Gang Wars have reached its maximum as the Sky Knights from Kaze High, and the New Shisengumi from Hokage High, rage a war using new, and illegal technology to kill eachother. The Yakuza, Itallian, and other crime syndicates battle for smuggling supremacy. Illegal Cyborgs run rampent as they terrorise the local, shotty, Police Department. And yet, unknowing to the tourist, and many of the civilans... This war doesn't exsist.

Okay, this is my atempt to get back into the ORPing grove, and yes, I'm yanking another story from my friend (face it folks, I canf't come up with good ideas, you seen Blade of Yin, Sheild of Yang?)

The short description above pretty much gives you the whole situation. The main setting is Techno City (Tech City for short.) You can play as a Civilian, a Sky-Knight, and New Shisengumi member, (or if you want to, you can make a new gang,) etc, etc. But to clarify some things, I made this sort of list.

Civilians: Civilians are regular people, they don't have any powers, but some do have the knowledge to use some of the advanced weapons. Most Civilians have absolutely no idea what is going on.

Techs: Techs mainly consist of the gangs in Tech City. They either buy, or steal licenses from other to purchase gear that temporarily alter their bodys to enhance their bodys. The most common Tech Gear are the Air Blades, and Hover Board sets, often times Tech install weapons on these items to cut off their enemys feet.

The Altered: The Altered are people who willingly expose themselfs to drugs to alter their bodys, these results vary from person to person, some can even create firballs, or teleport due to the drug exposers.

Cybs: Cybs are the legal Cyborgs, the way they look are often normal, but they use the advance technology to either help streangthen the economy, or to do mercenary-like jobs for the police.

Ills: Ills are Illegal Cyborgs, they often modifye themselfs to look like creatures against nature, or to gain power beyond the human anatomy, they are consider highly dangerous. There are some reports that people were kidnapped so they can be tested on new cybernectic technology.

Syndicates: Out of all the groups, syndicates are considered the most dangerous because they have almost all of the above. Simply put, they are extreamly powerful.

Psys: Psys are by far the oddest group of them all. Recent discoverys show that some people who are exposed to certain substances used to alter peoples bodys gain control of psychic powers, and do not need technology to create thing such as energy blast, and flight.

Feel free to ask me any questions if you need to. And welcome to Tech City.

This does sound like a thread that I would like to take part in.

I have a question though, with the altered ones are they somewhat like superhuman where they have control over their powers or do they have no control over them at all?

Most Altered have control over most of their powers, but if they over use them, they may loose control, or even worse, loose their sanity.

Count me in on this one. I have an idea for a character but I just need to put a little bit of fine tuning then I will post it up.

That depends on how many people are willing to work with this thread.

Okay then, I guess I'll post my characters (or at least one of them)

Name: Alexander
Age: 19
Breed: Tech
Gang: The Sky-Knights.
Eyes: Jade Green
Hair: Frumpy, dirt brown hair, logn enough to cover his eyes.
Build: Average teen-aged build, just a little more muscular.

Bio: Alex (short for Alexander) has been a member of the the Sky-Knights since he was 12. He became one shortly after he escaped the retched orphan home where he, and other orphans were brutally tortured, and beaten. After escaping, he ran into a small group of New Shisengumi, but was saved by the Sky-Knights before anything fatal was done to him. His un-faultered loyalty to the Sky-Knights never faultered since that incedent... Until something happened to him about one year ago...

Name: Emishi Okita
Age: Somewhere around 12-15 years old
Breed: Uknown
Gang: Uknown
Eyes: Jaged Yellow
Hair: Long, wild, crimson hair that can cover his face completely
Build: Slightly scrawnier, and slightly more pale than the average 15 year old build.

Bio: Not really much is known about Emishi. He's just a quiet kid that doesn't talk.

Well, I put up my characters.

Lucius
Unknown age
Altered
Syndicate
Eyes: White with just the pupils showing
Hair: Long brown
Slightly muscular build
His altered power: Ability to make balls of lightning in his hands

Lucius is a slight paradox of a person. He is a very quiet person, a person that you would not look at a second time if you saw him but he is most at ease killing people. He used to be a normal human but he found out one day that he was dying and that there was nothing that he could do about it so he willingly subjected himself to drugs, hoping that it would save him. What he did not know however is that the drugs that he was putting into his body were saving him but at the same time they were changing him physically and mentally until he killed someone without a second thought. He was then approached by one of the Syndicates and offered a job as a hitman which he willingly accepted and has been doing so ever since.

Ooh, Hy likes.

I'm guessing you've neven been in one of my threads. I often give more people freedom in my ORPs. So your character's profile wasn't over the top.

Cool, that means I am going to have serious fun with this one.

Questions, questions

Hey, do you have data ports (a la Shadow Run?) If so I have a character I'd like to add to the mix...

Handle: R. C.
Name: Rumiko Childers
Racial: Human (multiple lineage, Asian, Caucasian, Amer. Ind., a few others), Short black hair dark eyes, just under average ht. and wt., age 16-17 ish (unknown Birth year).

She's a gadget maker/vehicle pilot/tinkerer

Personality wise... do you remember the Movie Real Genius with Val Kilmer? Take the girl in the bib overalls that decided to refinish her floors because she can't sit still, tone the "non stop talking" aspect down, toss in a dose of sarcastic wise cracks.

She always needs to be tinkering with something, when she is not herding vehicles (remote controlled machines). Usually carries a backpack of stuff (electronics kit, spare parts, manual chip sets) and is a bit of a pack rat. She always has at least one broken small portable electronic gadget (pager, cell phone, game boy, palm pad, etc.) in her backpack that she is working on (i.e. we sit down some where for lunch and the kit comes out and gets worked on). The main reason her data jack and chip slots are at the back of her head at the base of her skull is because she knows that if she can see them easily in a mirror she will be tempted and want to tinker with them (which is admittedly a "BAD" idea, so out of easy sight means less likely she will see them and be tempted, and reaching them to tinker effectively will be difficult and another reason to leave them alone), she does have the self restraint to “not” tinker with them, but every once in a while there is that little obsessive feeling, about how much “better” she could make them. Her clothing tends to be shapeless, loose fitting baggy jeans, Except for the tight sleeveless t-shirt (I remembered something my brother once said about loose clothing and running engines – bad mix) the baggy nondescript armor jacket. She isn't exactly certain what year she was born, they found her when she was in the 5 to 7 year old age bracket, a little more savvy and coordinated than your average preschooler, but hadn't hit the 8 to 10 year old growth spurt yet. She did know her name, and she liked playing with cars, trucks Lincoln logs and Lego's more than with dolls or "gun type" toys. If any toy had a battery operated or special moving part (sparklers, touch activated sound, etc.), she would take it apart to see how it worked. She likes to work with techno gear, but that does not mean she wants to BE techno gear. Beyond the data jack/chipset/memory/smart link for guns and vehicles, she doesn't see any reason to cyber herself up beyond that. Doesn't want any cyber eyes - magnifying glass works just fine for what she needs. Other than learning how to slap a patch on and knowing enough to keep herself and her chums from bleeding to death before we can get to a doc shop she has no interest in learning a bunch of Bio-tech.

As much as she likes her drones, she will not go overboard to send a drone to do what an ordinary gun or knife could accomplish just as easily. Drones are expensive, ammo, while expensive, costs less than a drone and doesn't need as much work. She also believes the motto, "reuse, reclaim, recycle" and will attempt to use parts of tossed hard tech objects before buying new for the drone construction and repair.

Odds-n-ends: One small magic 8 ball….

Name: "Killin' " Halllin Kirshwalle
Age: 22
Breed: Altered
Gang: No Affiliation/Mercenary.
Eyes: Violet.
Hair: Short black "spikes," you've seen the style.
Build: Tall and althletic.
Alter Power: Teleportation.

Bio: Hallin (Hal-Lin) was once a member of the semi-prominent gang 'The BladeWeavers'. However, not long after becoming one of the Altered, the BladeWeavers came into contact with a Syndicate, and pissed the Syndicate off. Hallin methodically went through his own gang, slaughtering them all. Many say he was paid off. Others say he did it to make a name for himself. All anyone does know is someone within the Syndicate was impressed, and hired him for a few jobs. Since then, he's become a well-known Mercenary. No matter how poor you are, he'll take a job for you as long as you make sure to play by his rules.

Looks: Hallin in tall and slender. He wears blackpants, a black long coat, heavy black boots with solid steel tread, and a muted blue shirt. He has a scar running from the top left of his face, across his right eye, ending at his right ear lobe. His right eye has an odd feature, the pupil is a diagonal slit, matching the angle of his scar when he looks straight ahead. Hallin is known to smile during the kill.

Weapons: Hillin tends to demand a range of weapons be supplied by his employers for each jobs. The only weapons he's known to carry at all times is a set of two long, single-bladed swords. He's known to teleport behind enemies and use them for the kill.

...Good?

Kaegan.

27.

Ill

Tall, lanky, his muscles are well defined in places, like some olympic swimmer, and pudgy or non existant in others. His eyes wide, red and piercing. Long curly hair lays around his head in no particular style.

His real name is Kyle Ganes. He was kidnapped when he was only 15, made to do tests of drugs and new technology. What resulted was Kaegan, a misconstrued copy of a man, with little foreknowledge of his past, and a penchant hatred for anything that reminds him of his darker times.

His strength is unmatched, speed is unaltered, and agility is beyond that of any human. He is currently employed by a low level drug lord, who uses him as a runner for shipments.

As physically powerful as he is, he's not very smart, and often take a long time to think... which unfortunately makes it easy for him to be taken advantage of.

GM, Pooh, you guys are good. Label, I never played ShadowRun, nor have I ever watched Real Genius.

I forgive you for never playing SR but Real Genius shows up so often on TV these days .... Oh wait - you live outside the US don't you. My bad.
ShadowRun is fusion Tech and Magic system set in a future where fantasy races have suddenly reappeared causing massive amounts of chaos...

The cyberware is basically the equivalent of an iPod that is hardwired to the brain. The chipware is a lot like the mini programs that allow one to have various skills such as Trinity asking for a pilot program to fly the helicopter.

The vehicles are nothing more than remote controlled robots a la "Robot Wars" (once a Comedy Central network show) or toy cars/planes, or Armed forces fighter pilots that remote controlled planes, or things like the Mars Rovers (Sojourner, Opportunity, Spirit).

No, I live in the U.S, I just never cared for 1985 movies (or 1980 movies in general... The Breakfast Club gave me nightmares...)

Okay The character is okay then.

1985... that was Back to the Future.

If you tell me you don't like Back to the Future, I think I'm going to have to kill you.

(no, I know I'm going to have to kill you, and hide the body somewhere)

I said I never cared for, not didn't like. BttF was an okay movie, but I watched it too much... Now I can't remember one damn thing about the whole friggin' series.

Damn you Street Fighter, you and your memory ruining!
