OOC: Naruto casting call.
Hello Lit authors....
I'm sure that at least some of you have perused my writings in the past. Well, it occurred to me, that I've not done an open thread, or partook in on either that matter since the days of my old nick on this site. I'm a huge anime buff, so I decided I would see if there was any interest in a Naruto based thread. I own the first 12 seasons, but don't own any of the Shippuden series as of yet. Not that it matters.....I'll be drawing up my own little guidelines rather than sticking exactly to storyline. The actual Naruto characters will only be cameo appearances at best anyway. Should someone wish to adopt a series character for a cameo scene, pls feel free to PM me about it.
Though I'd prefer if we all came up with our own original an innovative characters, Im not going to deprive someone of enjoying a scene with a particular favorite character. So cameo's are allowed. lol

Naruto: The Future of the Leaf
It's been many years now since Naruto Uzamaki finally achieved his goal of becoming Hokage of the Village Hidden in the Leaves. Those who were once ganin, have ascended the ranks of shinobi......some teach.....others train.....while still others prefer to just focus on carrying out missions that further the village.
Yet times always only remain peaceful for so long......
A new crop of promising ganin have arisen, piquing the curiousity of those surrounding them enough to give the air before the Chuunin Exams a charged buzz......

The storyline begins after the Chuunin Exams have ended. Pls remember how selective the Leaf Shinobi are when selecting those to gain rank. I would like all characters to begin at ganin level if this does not offend.....so feel free to be creative as to the reasons your character might have failed at the Exams. I've put some thought into this, so I'll be doing the Hokage cameos/ranked mission assignments.
(On a side note: I'm very much looking for villians as well. So if you have an idea.....and you want to antagonize some rookie ninja. Pls PM me with your ideas!)

Feel free to creative with your character and his/her jutsu, so long as we avoid god modding, I'm ok with it. Every ninja has their strengths and weakness, so please let your profile reflect that. A high talent for taejutsu, for example, should reflect not only their knowledge of attack.....but defense as well. On a side note, I'm not ruling out Forbidden Jutsu, as long as they have a strong disadvantage or reason why they are forbidden.

Ryoji Takahashi
18 yrs old
6'0", 185 lbs, pale skin and dark hazel eyes.
Thin, wiry build, most of his body is covered well enough in clothing that most don't realize that his skinny frame is well toned and muscular in a lithe and graceful way.
Taejutsu - 3
Ninjutsu - 5
Genjutsu - 1
Ryoji is looked down upon by most other Leaf shinobi. Unlike many others in the Chuunin Exam, Ryoji had to have special permission to attend, his now defunct family not belonging to one of the powerful villages that dot Japan. This has cast him as an outsider, and one that very few trust, even now that he wears the Leaf headband....having made up his mind and sworn fealty to the village. It didn't make matters any better that he forfeited in the final stages of the Chuunin Exam rather than face a kunoichi of the same village he'd made up his mind to join. He has a deep sense of loyalty once set, and would rather wait for a more opportune time to take the test again.....than risk potentially maiming or killing a future comrade.
Unfortunately.....she probably didn't see things that way. The village certainly didn't. He'll have to live with the stigma of being a pussy, until the Hokage finally finds a use for him....a chance to prove himself.

Looking forward to seeing if anyone else is interested and if I can get this story off the ground.
