OOC: Loa Blood

We still need a way to link Sugar with the other characters. If Nikki, Dex or Kryna show up, it would be great if they encountered Nikki.

Otherwise, she could go back to the asylum for dolly.

Or she could just wander off into the city and start creating some havoc of her own. Eventually, the others would show up to stop her.

I like what you're doing with her, especially the warehouse scene.

Damien is still in the attac with two psychos and their twelve hostages, and a hole in the floor left by Monolith.

Thanks :)
She's sorta heading back in the vicinity of the asylum, and she'll realize that she forgot her dolly so she has a definate reason to go back :)

ok guys, I'm moving today, so it may be a few days before I get to post again.
SWampy, just control my character until I get back online, then I'll pick things up.

Yay! Everyone is pretty much together, at last. I really like what everyone is doing. It's cool that everyone developed/discovered new powers at the same time, since Monolith and Sugar started out more powerful than the original characters.

So now we have:

Damien: Wind power from wings
Nikki: Uncontrolable teleport
Dex: Light blast

Velvet, any idea what Kryna's new Gift will be?

From here on, I'd like to keep any more dosses of Loa Blood to a minimum, 'cause the stuff is supposed to be rare and usually fatal. So instead of developing any more new powers, try working at controling the ones you've got.

Sugar's Gift seems pretty powerful, being able to take out whole crowds of police at once. That's okay, but remember that people witth strong wills (including many violent psychopaths) will be able to resist her. Damien and Nikki (having psychic powers themselves) should be harder to influence than the rest of the characters. Similarly, Sugar's mind is the hardest for Damien to read.

Kryna is going to have electrokinesis, she's already very good with electronics, now she'll be able to control anything electric with her mind. She will also discover that her growing/shrinking ability will expand so she can grow or shrink to just about any size. Of course control over both of these powers will be very spotty at first ;) It's what I intended for her from the beginning.

Good ideas! As for the growth/shrinking, her range should increase gradually, let's keep her to 1 ft - 10 ft for now. I want to keep this story going for a while though, and later on, sky's the limit!

Hey sorry I didn't mean for it to seem that way...she can't influence massive crowds it was just meant to affect those closest to her at the moment, though as she moves so does the field of emotion....so it wears off on some and moves on to others. Though in highly stressful situations she often loses control and such....she's done developing for awhile....I wasn't sure if it was ok...

Nice, Spectral.

So, it would be nice if Sugar does get to save someone's life in the final confrontation in the basement. So the other characters have a good reason not to just lock her back up with the other loonies.

Of course, she could always get locked up, escape again, and become a villain.

hey ST.
Looking at my champs book, I figure your bomb will be a 9D6 exposion attack, so I figure it's gonna pound the hell out of me, but I'll survive the explosion.
Anyway, I left the bang to you, oh mighty narrator!

Mary Monroe

I haven't finished looking everything over yet, but I thought I'd give you a look at my purposed person...

Mary "Can't be anything but myself" Monroe
Race: Human
Place of Birth/Age: Unknown

Power: Mary can, via her will, shift her shape to any age between 10 and 80. Her basic features remain the same, delicate bone structure, jade green eyes, honey-gold hair (except as it silvers towards older age).

Her basic mass stays the same at about 85 lbs, however, and it takes generally five mintues to shift and clothing/items are not included. So someone thinking her ten who tried to pick her up would be surprized how heavy she was, while someone who tried to pick her up at middle age would be surprized at how light with her middle age pudge.

Flaw: Mary can't remember her past. She has no idea where she is from, how she got where she is, how she came in contact with the blood. The name she wears is one given her when placed in foster care after being found "wandering" as a ten year old in the streets.

Since then she's been supporting herself in a few odd ways...Under one name she is 70 and collects soical security, under another she rents a small efficency to keep her personal items (she is an artist and poet, but can't show it at the foster care), and as a Mary she lives at a very nice foster care. In another city she was doing the same thing, but fell in love with another foster child (a teenager) and approached him as a teen also. He seemed to fall for her also, but when he discovered her secret began to think of ways to use her skill to get money such as robbing banks under her middle aged persona. The more she resisted the more violent he became against her until the point she killed him, put in a change of address for her middle aged self and moved to another city where she was found, as her child self, wandering the streets and put into foster care.

She stills badly about him, and longs in her heart of hearts for someone to call her own who will accept her as she is.

Character play can be on many levels: Depending on what face she meets people in the story she can be childlike, mature, teenagerish, or a Granny type. She's very good at working the system and getting information since she can interview people while in different personas (and generally people don't tell a teenager what they would tell a peer, or a older person).

She cannot die via ageing, since she has complete control over that, and she is highly disease/posion resistant due to the fact that her state of flux burns out toxons, viruses, and mutant cells (such as cancer).

Let me know what you think.

Totally fascinating character, Succubus. I'm trying to think of a way to work her in, to meet the other charcters.

Kryna will be going to meet her old fence contact soon, so Mary could be there, securing transport of her old identity's art supplies, etc.

She could approach the characters by choice after they become famous for stopping this asylum thing.

There's a plot going on with the information leak about Loa Blood transport into the city. Is the leak in the Coda Corporation, Argon Military, or Draconian Intelligence? Mary could have stumbled onto some information and go to the police (Det. Price) or the characters with it.

Maybe you are the information leak. Selling secrets to the Aralian crime cartells.

Maybe you see one of the characters and it triggers a memory. What could the mysterious link in your past be?

Just a few ideas off the top of my head. Anyone else have any ideas how to work her in?

Mary could have just come to this city and overhear the broadcast on the News about the happenings at the Aslyum and be "found" wandering about in a daze a few blocks from there.

The last city she left she could have been in the system til age 15, so no one would connect a 10 year old with the girl missing there.

Depending on who you want to find her will set the pace for her meeting everyone etc, etc.

Wadda think?

It looks like everyone's going to be inside the asylum, so it would be best if Mary showed up just as everyone is coming out.

Gotcha, I figure just after they start the clean up is when she'll go, when she hears on the scanner "Suspects in custody, send in the meat wagon" she'll know it's relatively safe to head out that way, so that's what I'm setting her up for in the thead.

Ghost Elva
Height: 5'7"
Weight: 150lbs
Eyes: One black and one white, covers his eyes with sunglasses
Hair: Long White Hair that is tied into a pony tail
Age: Unknown
Nationality: Marrowen
Distinguishing Marks: Has his right arm covered in Tribal Designs and has flames working there ways around and through them.
Gender: Male
Description: He wears a long white trench coat that is tattered and torn, his shirt is black and his pants are black. He wears dark black sunglasses, he carries a Katana and two M9 9mms, his left arm is metallic and he usually always hides it, that hand is clawed, but it is more for looks if anyone notices. He is in excellent shape and studies a lot so he wont call himself dumb.

Powers: His senses are highly enhanced and his agility is phenomenal, reflexes like a cat, he is very quick on his feet, sometimes if he can pull it off, he can fade in and out of time it seems like. (Run and disappears and than appear 5 or 10 feet ahead of where he last was)

History: On his island he was trained to use a sword with great skill, he got along with everyone on the island, we were all family. But out of nowhere, a small army comes to our island and kills everyone except Ghost and three others. They escape and hide out for a few days, but Ghost had to find out what was going on and avenge his family and friends, he ran out to scout around and his three friends followed him, he ran to a ridge that overlooked there camp and he saw a mound of dead bodies, he also saw that they were digging something up. Ghost drew his Katana and jumped down fighting all of them, but it was no use, Ghost could not kill them all. He saw his three friends get shot down and in that instant, Ghost was taken out by tazerguns. He passed out from the stinging hits, and when he awoke he found that he was in some kind of padded room, he walked around the room trying to figure out where he was, but he just could not figure it out.

Alright, I'd been waiting to drop that one for a while now. Amon, describe your character's transformation, and then everyone can deal with the mouth-thing together.

You should take it out, but you should have to work for it, and should have to work together. No one of of you should be able to do it on your own, and it should get a couple of bites in.

The thing is fast and hungry. It can grip walls, ceilings, and flesh with it's mouths, and it navigates by smell. Dex can't blind it, the mentalists don't have a brain to affect, and there are no internal organs for Ghost to shoot. You'll pretty much have to burn the thing, or tear it apart.

Have fun!

Sorry, Succubus, it does look like it might take a little while to introduce you. I'll insert a scene on the bus, if you want to do any interacting with normals, but ignore it if you want to. Oh, and you could always interact with an escaped psycho outside of the police perimeter. Not all of them are animalisticpredators, there'd be some Hanibal Lecter types who would be quite interested in an innocent conversation with a young girl. Any of this sort of interaction would be great for establishing more details about the world.

As for the rest of you, feel free to write the abominations moves, as well as your own. That'll add speed and drama.

I should point out that you don't have to kill it. You could run away, or try to capture it alive for study, or to keep as a pet, or to search for a cure, etc. I just assumed you would try to kill it (it certainly wants to eat all of you), but just remember that all options are available.

That was brilliant, you guys. Every move from the kiss up to the explosion was solid gold. I'm really glad Nikki got to be the one to take the thing out, too, since she hadn't got a chance to sow off much yet.

Jacobo, read the first OOC post and then post a character idea. We're at a good place to introduce new people now.

Yeah, I've got a pretty good character idea. The powers might be a bit too strong... I don't know... I'll have to refine them a little bit. But before I introduce the character, I have a question: How many male characters and female characters are there? Cuz I can play either a boy or a girl. I really have no preference. :)

Well, y'see, I was thinking of a character with a strange ability -- opposing abilities in each hand. With the right hand, my character would be able to restore matter, forming the particles around the object into the object itself. For example, that would allow my character to heal other characters (restoring flesh) or repair broken items to mint condition. With the left hand, my character would be able to reverse the process, turning anything touched to a soapy mixture which quickly hardens into a powder-like dust. Like pouring super-powerful Drain-O on something. It's not especially rapid, but it would be a nasty surprise for anything trying to grapple, and grabbing people by the forearms would be devastating.

My character would believe the whole process is based on a sort of a combined creation and destruction idea... a sort of theory-in-practice of the capabilities of humanity. He/she is an orphan, and came in contact with Loa Blood when his/her guardian, a scientist in one of the richer countries, experimented with the Loa Blood and then died soon after at home. My character found the body and was "infected". Now, hating the Loas but also wanting to understand them, my character (probably high-school age, if he/she was still living with their guardian) is sort of wandering around, trying to figure out how to deal with their powers, and trying to keep a rein on them, learning how to keep them from taking effect.

My character is pensive but sometimes enthusiastic, empathetic but sometimes dramatic, and analytical and intelligent but sometimes able to hide it. A person of paradoxes -- and thus, the paradoxical power. ^_^

If the power seems too strong, tell me...
