This takes place during the time King Arthur and his knights defeated the Saxons and had their freedom granted to return to Britain- but have yet to get there. I would like this to take form after the movie of the same title, though I would rather have all the knights alive and well. And we very much need a few foes to weave their webs of drama and lies into the storyline. It's no fun without a little something to weigh it down.
Characters
Arthur- Arthur wasn't just a legend, he was a real man: someone who sacrificed himself to become a leader and earned the right to be called King. Amongst the knights, Arthur is the one who feels a sense of unfairness, a sense of responsibility to intervene and make the world a fair place. The knights, as loyal as they are to him, are much more like military machines - they want to do their thing and move on but that's why Arthur is the leader - they recognize that there's something different about him and they can't help themselves from following him.
He feels Roman, but as Rome changes and pulls out, he comes to identify with his British side more and more. Therefore, as his beliefs and faith are challenged, he changes accordingly and begins to take on the responsibility of a leader to his people. **Taken by: Mantra**
Lancelot- A charismatic killer, he is Arthur's right hand man. If Arthur is absorbed by his idealistic vision of how the world could be, Lancelot is more grounded in the cold and filth of how the world truly is. Passionate, arrogant and cocky, Guinevere nearly leads him astray, nevertheless, he remains absolutely dedicated to Arthur.
Galahad- The youngest of the knights and the most enraged by his forced duty to Rome. He is driven by his dream of one day returning to his homeland. Because he is the youngest, the memory of his homeland is fresh in his heart. Galahad doesn't have the same sense of family, or belonging to the group that the older men like Bors would have. He has nurtured his dream of home in order to survive the hell of duty under the Roman boot.
Gawain- Unlike Galahad, Gawain has no such dream of returning to his homeland. His home is on the field of battle, and if he dies so be it. Yet, being done with Rome is part of his dream and perhaps he will become a wanderer if he does not return to his native land.
Tristan- The mysterious and deadly Tristan is a lone wolf, a scout with just his hawk for company. He doesn't believe in any god. Killing is an art to him, and he's likely to leave the battlefield strewn with the blood of those he has mortally wounded and left to die a lingering, painful death. Some of the other knights find him a bit disturbing. Despite the fact that he cares about the other knights, for Tristan, the fight always comes first. **Taken by: Angelus**
Bors- Bors, a fierce fighter, is the veteran of the pack. He revels in getting his hands on an enemy and finishing the argument with his "knuckle-blades" or axe. With five children and three wives, Bors is driven by the notion of staying on and "running things" after the Romans have finally left. **Taken by: Jagged**
Dagonet- The formidable Dagonet is a tradionalist with a strong code of honor. He most clearly sees that without Arthur as their leader, the Knights would be no better than a pack of vicious wolves. Dagonet is a quiet observer of life, with a strong sense of place and time. He knows that they are reaching a major fulcrum in history but doesn't know what it is. One thing he does know is that when the fighting starts, he is a Goliath on the battlefield.
Guinevere- A woman of high birth among her people, is desperately torn between Arthur, her enemy, and the leader he could become. In the Dark Ages, many women of political importance fought on equal standing with the men, and she has a world to fight for. She so fears the fate of her people at Saxon hands, that she is willing to make an unholy alliance with her traditional enemy: the hated Roman, Arthur. She eventually recognizes Arthur is a good man. **Taken by: MissCheevious**
Merlin- The mysterious leader of the Woads, is a master of guerrilla warfare; a leader who has trained his fighters to melt into their natural environment after each, short savage attack. If there is anyone who never doubts Arthur's fate in the struggle against the Saxons, it is the Shaman, Merlin.
Morgan le Fay- **Taken by: Caela**

These would be somewhat the core group of characters I think to have at the moment and would really like them to be taken up. For those of you interested: apply for the one you would like and if we still have a few more open after a bit- you are more than welcome to take up one more. I would just like to give everyone a fair chance for a character they may be interested in. Once these positions are filled then come the warlords, and this is left to the imagination and those of you willing to be ruthless and utterly cruel. ;] Then of course would come Woads, local kings and queens and such. Or maybe they could be NPC'ed, depending. Please feel free to post your ideas for plots or just comments in general.
