*The following is taken from the back cover of my source book*

The master of Ravenloft is having guests for dinner... and you are invited.

A dark shape emerges from the shadows of Castle Ravenloft. A flash of lightning reveals the sneering countenance of Count Strahd Von Zarovich. His eyes burn with eternal hunger and contempt for life. From a narrow balcony, he peers out into the drizzling twilight at the few sad lights of the village below and mutters a single name: "Ireena..."

The Expedition to Castle Ravenloft campaign adventure updates the original 1st edition Ravenloft module, retaining the Gothic flavor and familiar elements while expanding and reimagining some of the locations to create a deeper, richer adventure experience.

----------

I am looking for 4-5 players to generate 6th level characters, using 3rd or 3.5 rules, to participate. Would anyone care to play?

Indeed I would! Nothing like wandering through an old castle and some vamp-bashing to warm the blood :D

I would prefer a little more common race for this, actually.

How about Feykissed?

Feykissed

Fey enjoy sexual and emotional dalliances with creatures of all kinds. Rarely, these result in children with a touch of fey blood. Sometimes a feykissed child can't directly trace its ancestry to a fey.

Feykissed is an inherited template that can be added to any humanoid, or monsterous humanoid creature. The creatures type changes to fey. It uses all the base creatures statistics and special abilities, except as noted here.

Abilities: -1 str&con, +2 cha

Skills: +2 racial bonus on escape, hide, listen and spot checks.

Special qualities: Keeps all of base creatures plus low light vision

Fey blood: For all effects related to race, a feykissed is considered fey

Class skills: Perform is always a class skill

Damage reduction: 5/cold iron

Fascinate: *Acquired at 5th level* 1/day as bard.

Charm monster: *acquired at 10th level* 1/day as spell

Additional favored classes: Bard and Sorcerer.

Would a nercomancer be out-of-bounds? I usually find them fun to play 8D

I have the book some where in my office...*makes note to have one of the :nana: take a look for it*

Do you want to attempt play D&D online or is this a free form RP?

I would allow it, but be warned, I am going to institute the Hero's of Horror source books rules reguarding Depravity. Playing a necromancer may well end up corrupting your character beyond playability. If you do, I would suggest making a second character for you to fall back on if this necromancer does indeed fall to the grip of evil, or death. In fact, anyone who wishes to may make a fall back character in case their primary character falls. I do have a few npc's that will be availiable for player characters to take over as well, during the course of this campaign.

If we can just get at least two more interested parties, and have all of you post character's here, I will begin the in character thread. From the sounds of it, the party will have magic well taken care of. It could use a tank, a healer, and a rogue, to make it well rounded.

Jagged, what book are you refering to?

I was going to attempt to blend rolling and free form actually.

Expedition to Castle Ravenloft....Though I have found memories of adventures in the 2nd Edition (good old days) Ravenloft modules.

hhhhmmmm...interesting. May have to role up a character

Now Jagged, no cheating by digging up the book and learning all the secrets I have to throw at the party now... LOL

If you do join, we would only be down one possibly two party members. So, how about it? You willing to tank, heal, or stealth for the party?

I will think on it...cheap ha...perhaps use unconvetional thinking (thank you captain Kirk)

Heroes of Horror? Don't know it, but hey-ho! Sure I'll stumble through without getting too badly corrupted 8D

Can I be a sixth level pleasure mote swarm barbarian?

Looks good Tymeless, I thought having so many templates on one character might be a bit unbalancing, but it looks like its fairly workable. one thing however, can she fly? And if so, what are the parameters on that?

Cats, haha, very funny, but don't you mean Bliss Motes? I deam swarms to be unplayable as characters, too many minds at work, you see.

How did Celestine Moonfeather get 28 hp, my calulation is 8?

I may have a rouge psudo warrior healer.

A 5th level factotum from dungeoncape and a first level warblade from tome of battle: book of the nine swords.

I am rushed I'll give more details via pm later today.

Hey buddy!

I have a 6th level Minautar Palidin I'd like to play, if that's cool?

Alright, Cats, Val, if you post the same write up that Tymeless did, we'll only be waiting on Screech.

I will caution all of you though, I am going to do my best to keep this thread running to its proper ending, and yes, there is an ending to the scenario. I ask you all to try as hard as I to keep this thread from dying like so many others. Think we can do it?

You know I'm good for it. ;)

Give me time to find his character sheet and post it accordingly!

BIO: Taylor was born to a suprised halfing father, causing his changling mother, Robert, to run away. From a young age Taylor was tought the value of adaptability and the ability to remain hidden. Upon mastering her ability to change shape she began a versatile career reading a stolen spell book, paying omage to bacoob, St. Cuthberg, Wejas, amoung sevral others, she practiced with locks and a sword. While leaving Eberron, she traveled to many places as a wondering trouble shooter with basic skills in most disciplines reling on her wits and unique insights.

On one such trip she, currently the male elf Gilascent, met Alex, a male human warblade. Quite impressed with the flashy but adaptable style of the warblade she begged to become his student, but he refused able to sense she was hiding something. After there adventure she asked again, and he promised he would if she would be fully honest with him. She agreed and threw off her alias of Gilascent and revailed her gray skin and white hair, and that she was infact a female.

Taylor adopted a new human disguise and became the partner and student of Alex. Over the next adventure she became quite taken with him and mastered the basics of being a warblade. Unfortnetly he would not live long after that adventure, an unexpectd encounter with a mindflayer ended in the expected manner. Seeking the ability to raise her beloved master she has traveled to the town of Ravenloft.

Unless I read the guide wrong it said i get 3racial hit die plus my first class level.

Yes, that would be it.

I am used to funny house rules with racial hit dice, basically you can sub them for class hit dice or ignore them to be a race at an earlier level. So I saw one level of sorcerer and thus assumed 1 hitdie.

I have played that way too but i looked it over and then got to thinking about it my badass feykissed halfdragon planetouched creature wouldn't survive very long fighting 6th lvl mobs with 8hps. So i did some figuring and it made more sense with the racial dice.
