OOC - Dune: The Spice War

I'm thinking of starting a new thread in the Dune universe.

I havesome ideas, but I would lik,e to see others join in.

Basic knowladge of Dune is a must, so you understand everything.

Never played online RPG before but this is something I might be interested in. What period is this story going to be set in?

I'm thinking off 200 years before the book of Dune: House Atreides.

Cool. Like a look back at the history of the Harkkonen-Atreides fued. That would be cool. Or will it be more about the colinization of Arakis?

Are all element fodder for the game ie all the houses, the guilds, the Bene Gesserit?

Let me do a quick speed read of the first book to get a feel for it. It's been a while since I've read it.

The questions don't boter me, it's better then no one wanting to play.

I think the Freman colonising Arakis was even further back in the past.

All the Houses will be in it and such.

I kinda like the idea of a early look atthe Harkonnen - Atreides fued.

Even if we had some other Houses inthere, like Corrino, Vernous, etc etc.

Iv'e seen both dune movies, there awesome!
I did start the Dune book but I never finished it moved on to the "Sword of Truth" serie.
English is my 2nd language, so I had trouble with Dune. but I plan to finish it. the story and concept of water so goes with what I believe.

At the moment, I am working on the mainstorey line, place, and frame of this RP. Give mea couple days to come up with what I need.

Mean while, think up your chars; thenin a few days, I'll post the above, then you can work out the stor lines for you chars and how they fit in.

Here's what I got so far:

200 years beforethe preude book (Dune: House Atreides). House Corrino is still the House of the Emperor.

We have House Atredes, House Harkonnen fighting over control of Arikes (Dune).

There is another Hose, fueling the war between the Atreides and Harkonnen.

Children of Dune Miniseries is the sequal to the Dune miniseries.

The Children of Dune miniseries is based of the "Dune Missiah" and "Children of Dune" books... Where is the Dune mini series is based off the "Dune" book.

Can't wait for the Children of Dune mini series.

Hey Chew.

The storyfor this thread is based 200 years bofore the prelude: "Dune: House Atreides".

There won't be anyof the characters such as Leto Atreides, Stilgar, Gurney,or Vladimer Harkonnen. For the reason; they are not born yet.

I have read all the Dune Trilogy books but it was some time ago. I am familiar with the movies as well. They did a good job of staying close to books. Leto, Jessica, the Doctor, and who was it that Capt Picard played?

Anyways, if you do not mind newbies count me in.
