OOC: Discworld

I'm thinking of starting a thread based on the books by Terry Pratchett, set in Discworld (and Ankh-Morpork), and am looking for interested parties.

It will mainly involve the characters in the Watch. I've already worked out an introduction to the story - a murder mystery.

I was wondering how you posted to the Discworld thread without my getting notified, AFM. I clicked on it, and saw it was a whole new one! By Kepic! Hoodyhoo!

Okay, Ask for More as Commander Vimes and Neale as Captain Carrot. We've got the upper ranks of the Watch at least.

I'll start the thread and see if it gains any more interest. I think writing in 'third person' would read best for this, but thats just my opinion.

Please act on information seen, or which can be found out, eg asking bystanders, question - I had to do a Death scene, but I don't think it gives anything away.

No-one on the scene recognises Lucus Gretwold. He's a pretty non-descript looking human, doesn't have anything on him which identifies him, though he does smell a little of flower pollen to those with a more accute smell (eg Sergeant Angua)

There is something that can be followed up, though. Or back-tracked easily enough. (That should be a big enough clue!)

Neale, if you'd like to move the scene on to the Watch house, then Ask For More can get involved in the case. The autopsy won't turn up anything, other than the man died of a heart attack.

I'll throw in some further clue(s) on my next post.

We could do with some more main characters... I'm happy to play the 'bit scenes' in the thread, to keep it and its plot moving.

Angua would be welcome, as she is often a main character in Watch stories. Heres a brief rundown of her character -

Sergeant Angua of the Ankh-Morkpork City Watch. For most of the month she is a well-devolped girl with ash-blonde hair. At full moon she is a werewolf, with a human intellect and with certain additional powers, such as the ability to smell colours and tear out a man's jugular vein. She forms a liason with Captain Carrot Ironfounderson. Well, a bit more than just a liason. It appears that Carrot, whose main hobby is ambling the byways of Ankh-Morpork on foot, has been more than happy to forgo the slight monthly dampener on the relationship in exchange for a girlfriend who is always ready for a nice long walk.
