OOC: a lil bit of advice Please!

Hello all, I've been a member of the forum for a lil while now but like the odango atama I am I forgot what username and password I used for this forum LOL. (I'm on SEVERAL forums. at least six I can think of)

Anyway I've been debating either A: Joining an already existing ORP or B:start my own. The thing is I am afraid to start my own ORP becuase I've had bad luck...many becuase I was working within the general public with a bunch of....*cringes* teenagers lord have mercy. Plus I don't want to seem pretentious by jumping off and posting my own ORP post before being a fresh "virgin" to this message board *giggles at the thought of having Virgin status again*

My only advice is to change your sig. If what you say and do has no bearing on who you are than how is anyone supposed to know? By that logic we should love a mass murderer who spouts his beliefs of children being the spawn of satan because of some intangible immeasurable quality that he must posess? What idiocy!

For the moment, I have only one sudgestion:

Find an rp that fits with you, that way, you feel more confortable posting. Often others will help you if you're confused

In this forum, it is the idea that counts. Yes, name has something to do with it. If Cats is starting up a thread, most of the regular's join in, knowing it'll be fun and something new and exciting.
And Cats is starting a new one. The Third Great War.
Go to the OCC, write up a character, join the fun.

Name doesn't hold a lot of merit here though. If you have a good idea for a role play, people will join. Doubtless of whether you are a newbie or a veteran. We love playing new things, writing cool characters and kicking some ass.

If you have an idea, put it out there. If you want help, just ask. Everyone in here is friendly, except for some of the idiots, but you can ignore them. Eventually they ignore you, and so it works out in the end.

Oh look advertising. I didn't even have to bring it up myself.

I disagree how ever about the names. Hy, Pooh, myself and many others have been around long enough to reach the point that what we name our threads doesn't matter, people will glance at it. No one knows you from otehr threads however, so it is a useful way to draw roleplayers.

Otehr then that pooh is right concepts and idea's are infantly more important then a good name.

anyways. one ofthe first things i did when i got here was start my own RP and get some people i had met in on it. that way i could set the place up, how it worked, and i wouldn't be confused, or have things sprung on me. it worked well. we got something like 300 or 400 posts, which isn't bad for a virgin thread.

of course, the people here are nice, most of them anyways. their not going to get mad at you or somethign if you missunderstand somethig when you join the rp's, you might be asked to change something, but it doens't mean their angry.

you can try to join one of us folk's threads, or start you own, inviting the people you know, and let them see if anyone else is interested.

one of the big important things to do here is comunity. get to know people.

I'm shocked no one else mentioned community. Khad is right, talking to others and getting to know them is a very important part of the experience here. Oh and don't assume any one is like there character, that can lead to funny conversations.

*sets down Arc and writes on a piece of paper* "redeem for one full and complete corrupting"

*leans foreward and kisses her once more deeply, the pulling back, he slides the note down her shirt and winks*
