Hi everyone. I have been editing a friend's story and have a good idea of what direction she should take, but I was curious if there was a resource online that many of you have recommended/use for tips and tricks, resources to follow, any sort of assistance? It can be simple guidelines to AI reviews for spelling and punctuation and any suggestions from you all would be a great benefit.
Thank you so much in advance.

I just saw there are a couple pinned posts like owl.purdue and more, so Ill check there first! But if anyone has any favorites, please feel free to comment or message me!

Beware that AI reviewing can lead to stories being rejected. Not saying you can’t use them, but you need to be aware that they are not perfect.

Grammary is ok, but Grammary has never met a sentence, couldn't rewrite. Editor in Word works best. AI is milk toast at best. Let me know what works best for you.

Yes Grammarly is good. Maybe for a story you may face word limit

Can go for ChatGPT. Simple and reliable
Bad advice for Lit writers. Grammarly runs a major risk of leaving artefacts that won't be allowed on this site. ChatGPT content is not allowed, full stop.

I am a proofreader / final prepublication editor for several authors on Literotica. I use the FREE Version of Grammarly. I downloaded it 2+ years ago and it runs as a Word Add-in. It finds grammar errors and missing words and misspellings. Two of my authors are Australian and one is Canadian, and each flavour of English is configurable.

The extra-cost version of Grammarly

The extra-cost version of Grammarly does seem to rewrite every paragraph. Quite often in this forum, I see comments that only apply to the extra-cost version. Not often, the free version suggests rewriting a (short) phrase, saying it is 'wordy'. The new phrase would be shorter, not longer. I ignore them mostly; My author's words are fine.

Finally, I disagree that Editor in Word is better. My Grammarly version suggests several times the number of changes that Word's Editor does. e.g. Adding or deleting commas and replacing one preposition with a better one.

These are my opinions and the comparison might be dated. I just won't risk updating because I am so happy with what I have.

But even then, make the actual changes yourself.
