Lit has a irc like chat section, but frankly the few times I've been in it, I never saw any names I recognized.

It would be nice to find a yahoo room or other chat system location where the posters hang out. BBS's are ok, but its harder to come to know your fellow posters from a bbs.

So give... where do you hang out when you're not posting to lit? :D

Don't use chat rooms...prefer one one one IMing. I agree though you can get to know a person better with chatting.

I have been to lit "Chat" and on several occasions no one is there. another chat forum I like to visit is at http://www.wifelovers.com/ this is a split site half is free/half is pay you can go through the free side and just log onto the chat with out getting a user id and password. Kelly requires an Id to post on the free side to keep the newbies in line. Fuck, Asshole, and a couple other words are omited from the site, it is set up for real people and has quite a group of followers. I must say it is mainly about wives who are into swinging, playing, tease,....

I generally agree with the IMing...
the few chatrooms that I do visit have few visitors, and generally all of them are well known to me.
I dislike going into a chatroom where there are many people chatting, having separate conversations that are all hard to follow, and have their own little cliques anyways. Feels like walking into a dance club with two left feet.

the only chatsite i use at all now is at

http://30s.need2rant.com

but even there I tend to stick to posting on the boards...I only go there because it is a site meant for those who used to visit an old chatsite called thirtysomething where |I spent many a happy hour chatting.

Sadly I think IM is taking over...though I still love to chat myself when I have the time to!

I don't use chat rooms..

..but like a lot here at Lit I usually have Yahoo running in the background while I'm online.

I am going to have to go with many here in the fact I perfer IMing someone or being IMed. I have included my AOL instant message name on my profile...;) This way the conversation can be at a leisure pace....:D

Bob...looks like the advice is you get to pick who you want to chat with and do it one on one on yahoo or MSN. :D

I much prefer Im , have most listed on profile , can also give out MSN if needed...have most running when i'm online...

I'm mainly an IM person but I do pop into Lit chat every now and again..........its a rare thing though.

Otherwise its AOL, MSN, or yahoo.

IMer here, mostly yahoo, but on rare occasions and for very rare people MSN.

Bummer. I had hoped that somewhere there was a room that the bulk of the lit folks hung out in.

I've got ICQ and Yahoo Messenger installed. I've had ICQ for eons now, but rarely do I run either of them. I find IM'ing an annoyance, most of the time that I'm online (and its a lot of time!) I'm working and really can't afford to allow myself to be distracted by IM's floating in.

I used to hang out a lot in the Yahoo Small Business rooms until they got invaded by hordes of MLM'ers. And for awhile on IRC, but I've stopped even that.

Maybe what we should try is scheduling a time/place on a private yahoo room where we can all get together and say howdy. IM's are nice, but sometimes a few hours in chat can be fun. :)

edited to add;

If anyone wants either my icq # or my yahoo ID, drop me a pm and I'll let you have it. I don't want to publicily post it.

I like the idea of a mass chat somewhere...I miss the atmosphere you get with a good chat forum....I met my hubby online in a chat room..it was a great place in its prime, a mish mash of people all chatting together about allsorts of things....really great....pity i can@t find a place like it now though :(

I prefer IMing to chat rooms. My yahoo name is on my profile, and I do chat on it. However, with few exceptions everyone who has IMed me has started the conversation with the size of their dick (too bad it was bigger than their IQ level). After about 2 minutes, sometimes less, I will usually end up blocking that person from ever chatting with me again. I'm interested in good conversations, not in talking sex from the first second you talk to me.

Hi everyone...

An IMer here...mostly yahoo but I do MSN occasionally as well...for those that had mentioned having a group chat with folks from Lit...I have created a room in Yahoo a couple of times that got pretty good response....the only problem is when it empties out....the room disappears and someone has to create it all over again...When I do create it....I put it in ADULT under Literotica friends...

Maybe we'll talk there soon...:) ...Have a great day!

I got the impression somewhere that Literotica's chat is non-functional. I tried to get to it several times, to no avail. I used to use IRC a lot, but not so much anymore. I do some IMing on ICQ and MSN. Appears that IM is the item of choice on Lit. I just haven't done too much of late.

I hate chat rooms. I can't read or type fast enough to keep up. I always feel like I've missed something! This place is just the right speed for me. Since I'm usually at work IM doesn't work for me. Sometimes I get bored here - how do you find another board? I am so techno backwards about this kind of stuff! I just stumbled on to this board by mistake once. I guess I could ask my kids! lol

I can be found on LambdaMOO for many hours of each day. Same name as here.

crazy...that was the beauty of the chatsites i used to go to...they didn't auto refresh so you had to click on "submit" to move the conversation on...worked well for me...although in a big room it can get a bit much*L*

Ok a bit of self promotion..but my website actually has similar forums to this place if you fancy a look :)

I usually do the IM thing. I haven't ventured into a chat room in over a year. I use Yahoo or MSN.

I really, really like the idea of setting up a room to meet in and having a 'get together' of literotica folks. It would be great to chat in something other than a bulletin board.

Whenever I log onto lit chat, it's usually just various people looking for cyber. And I'm looking to get to know somebody, always. It's hard to do that on the chat room, which is why I don't even bother with it anymore.

How can we set up a chat session? Ideas?

Hi Sheath...someone would have to post a day and time...then a room could be created in Yahoo for Lit friends...and voila!
