One Year On...

This past year I’ve discovered what it’s like to have a real job.
I also discovered that it isn’t any easier than my ‘pretend’ job at McDonald’s was, lol.

I’ve done some soul searching, and although I’m not quite finished, I’m pleased with the progress I’ve made.

I’ve discovered that I can’t let the situation with my father ruin my life. I can’t get bogged down with negative feelings, hurt and disappointment.
I was really making myself miserable there for a while.
I’ve learned I can’t change people, no matter how hard I try, so I need to accept them as they are.

I’ve discovered that turning 21 and being able to buy my own alcohol is a dangerous thing, LOL. :p

Here recently, I learned that things will eventually have to change. Traditions can’t be what they’ve always been.
My Great-grandma is in the nursing home doing rehabilitation. So our Christmas eve celebration will be at the nursing home. We can’t have our family party without Greatma! :)
(Not the first time that’s happened though; I had my 18th birthday party at the nursing home too, lol.)

I’ve learned that my step mom, (ex-step mom actually) is one of my best friends.
My little sister thinks I’m the cat’s meow, and wants to be just like me when she grows up, lol.

I’ve made new friends, lost old ones, and in general, I’ve grown.
As a person, as a friend, as a daughter, and as a professional.

The year of 2004 has had it’s ups and downs, but everything happens for a reason, and I’m grateful of that. The ‘downs’ have been learning experiences.

I plan on treasuring this Christmas, and marching into the year of 2005 with my head held high~ ready and willing for anything life can throw at me.

Beautiful, Kitten.
I'm sure that whatever life throws at you, you'll handle in y our own inimitable way.....with compassion, sensitivity, common sense, and a wonderful amount of good humour.

I consider it an honour to count you as a friend.

I'm sorry Lou, but I didn't deserve that.

Since when have i said anything against his remarks?

:(

No, but what I said might've prevented you from saying anything in retalliation. I'm sick of it and stupid fucking games.

Awww... Thank you so much. :rose:
I always thought that quote, "That which does not kill us, makes us stronger," was such horse shit.
I've realized that it's not.
I'm glad to know you have such faith in me.
I consider it an honor to count you as a friend also.
You're a beautiful person inside and out.

Kitten, that really was beautiful. You have a very wise head on such young shoulders. Congrats on fathoming out such important things.

All the best to you, with love,

Lou

Hmmm a year past, and another ahead.

This has been a great year for me. And though I usually suffer with this season, I have found how to cope with it to the point that I really can enjoy myself. :)

Though I have to say Lou. If you spent a WHOLE year on, wouldn't you be sore by now ;) :D

Big and Tall, that is so wonderful to hear. Here's to great years! :rose:

LOL! Cheeky thing. ;) :p

TBH - I'm looking forward to this year being OVER and starting a new one... for many reasons.

May 2005 be better (and not a repeat of) 2004!

Sorry Lou.

I probably did deserve it. I'm just a bit sensitive still after last night
