For everyone there is one last everything. No one lives forever and for us all it will eventually comes down to one last time for everything we do. One last car ride. One last day of work. One last argument. One last assignment. One last email to a friend. One last paycheck. One last time grocery shopping. One last dinner. One last smile. One last kiss. One last carress. One last blink. One last breath.

And one last post.

Before anyone asks, I’m not leaving. At least not today, but perhaps I’m just in a reflective, and slightly morbid, mood.

My absence from Lit of the last few weeks got me to thinking… Would anyone miss me if I never went back? Who would? And for how long? And also, if I knew I was never going back, what should my last post, if any, be? A thank you to all? A thank you to a few, or one? A general goodby? A general fuck you all? Or just fade away? What would you want people to remeber about you?

I’ve read many good-byes on Lit in my 2 years here, some happy, some sad, sore reflective, some nasty. But also a great many of the former AH regulars just faded away, never to be heard from again. It’s amazing how in this world where everything is so accessable and easy to find how people that you have known for years can simply disapear so quickly and completely.

To be perfectly honest, I’m not really sure where I’m going with this thread. I suppose I just had some rambling thoughts and needed to post them somewhere.

Feel free to add your own thoughts or thread jack as you will.

CD… over and out.

The Master of the one-liner strikes again.

Sorry CD. I'm in a flippant mood.
You would be missed, as would many others if they left.

Doctor Who keeps coming back! Christmas special. Yeah! :nana:

I'm done for the moment.... maybe. ;)

Maybe people don't up and leave so much as they reinvent themselves and come back as someone else.

Maybe they die. Or go to jail. Find the lord and repent their sinful ways.

Think of how weird it would be if you tried to visit literotica.com one day and it was gone. Vanished without a trace. How would we find each other?

I like your duck, if that gives you any solace

Fortunatly, I have email addys for most of the people on Lit that I really care about so I could stay in touch. But it would indeed be a sad thing for this little community to suddenly up an disappear. :(

CD, we do notice, and miss. Note the fond references to MathGirl and Chicklet that appear frequently, you would be missed, because you made an impact here.

*hugs*

You can't leave! Then we'd both be gone and that would kind of suck.

So then come around more often and protect against even the threat of it...

Evil! How the hell are ya bro?

Since the prospect seems to bother you, I have a simple solution. Switch your religion to Hindu. "The wheel turns."

you ain't going nowhere except to a party...after we get out of jail, then you can talk about leaving and I'll talk you out of it...but first, Tequila!!!

Every post is the last.

Or was that the latest?

Whatever. This is not a place. No more than your phone is a place. It's an interface. So there is no leaving per se, just choosing to use.

I would miss you CD.

And I would note that occasionally in Abs. "I wonder how CD's doing? Anyone heard from him?"

But it's your decision, and I try very hard not to influence other's decisions.

Again, I'd miss you.

Good Will Hunting

Do you know what I like best about the movie Good Will Hunting? The ending.

I like that conversation Will and his buddy have one day on the job site, where his buddy says he doesn't want goodbyes and all that fuss, he just wants one day to show up in the morning to pick Will up for work, and find out Will isn't there. That's it. 'Cause if that happens, his buddy will know Will has moved on to bigger and better things, or at the very least he'll know Will's chasing a dream or trying to realize his potential.

If you left CD, I'd miss you. But I'd also wish you well. If you didn't show up for a few weeks I'd wonder where you'd gone to, but I think in the end I would accept that you're out there living life, not just sitting here talking about it. I'm not saying we regulars here at the AH are all losers, but we're different than the people who don't visit the AH on a regular basis. We use the AH as more of a crutch than anything. So if one day you decided to walk without the crutch, I'd cheer you on.

But I'd still miss you.

  :rose:

Egads! An Alpie sighting! That alone makes my wandering thread worthwhile.

Good to see you.

I didn't really intend this as a 'who would miss me' thread. But a very heartfelt thank you to everyone who said they would. I'm glad that I've made some impact in at least a few peoples lives over the last few years. Hopefull the impact was positive (I'm pretty sure at least a few have been negative judging by my 'ignore list' ) but even if it was negative perhaps it served a purpose.

If it can be said that a person is measured by his/her friends then apparently I measure up pertty well judging by the people here. :rose:
