It happens, I had a 20,000 word part 6 go live recently, and almost immediately there was one vote, a 2. Part 5, also received a 1 early in the voting. I almost asked them why they read part 5 after reading the previous 4 terrible chapters. The person also left a comment saying they wanted it to be zero.
So Thursday or Friday my part 6 in a recent story finally got a Hot rating. It went to a 4.70 rating with a minimum of 10 votes. Today the H rating was removed, and the score went up to 5.0 and 9 votes. That means the 2-bomb(see above) was removed and I lost the H-rating. Doesn't matter, just made me chuckle.
The maths isn't precise, so I'd say a sweep adjusted the score a little before the two extra votes came in. But no, it's not a one bomb, not according to my maths. There must of been some kind of weird sweep or I just got two one bombs on my Spillane story. It had 239 votes and was sitting at 4.7. Got two votes up to 241 and the score went down to 4.68. Those of you who know the math here, sweep or one bombs? And why would someone one bomb a six week old story that isn't in a contest? Maybe someone is trolling me...

239 x 4.70 = 1123.3
241 x 4.68 = 1127.9
1127.9 - 1123.3 = 4.6 which is near enough (with an adjustment of .1) to a 4 and a 5.
His vote count went from 239 to 241. In my maths, that's two votes. You have summed a total, you need to keep calculating the average. That's for two votes though. So there were two 2s or a 3 and a 1. So I'd say a deliberate downvoting effort.
Is that a typo on your score? 5.0 is perfect and you should have your H and be on the top of all list for "last 30 days."
Given that the voting system is the only way readers can give you some degree of feedback, I reckon you'd be cutting off your nose to spite your face.I will probably turn off voting on new stories, I'm still up in the air about that.

Why would you turn off the only avenue of promotion you've got? I don't get that, at all.

... Not everyone is doing it to get feedback on their writing. For some its just enough to get the story out of themselves and established somewhere in the record and they aren't asking for someone to school them.
One bombs make you splutter
One bombs make you small
And the one’s that Anon give you
Are most aggravating of all
Go ask Simon
When he’s ten feet tall
And if you go chasing feedback
And you know they’re going to call
With their ranting and their venom
Their logic-denying ways
Call EB
Before you fall
When the voices in the forum
Rise up and tell you where to go
And your insight is somewhat clouded
And your confidence mighty low
Go ask Laurel
I think she'll know
When balance and civility
Have fallen off the map
And Anonymous is talking nonsense
And defenders don’t speak up
Remember what the Guru said

Fair enough. But you did bring the issue of turning votes off as if you were seeking comment from others here. So I responded, that's all. Peace, bro (and your comments to my stories have been appreciated)I don't need anyone else to validate my writing. If you look, I submitted most of my stories, 15 to 17 years ago, and rarely checked my scores. I've received a fair amount of positive emails over the years about stories. Almost never received any negative emails, with the possible exception of one. And I responded to that person, and she later apologized for not understanding the category I wrote in(BDSM).
Your "cutting off my nose to spite my face" comment, reminds me of my mother, RIP. When you post a story chapter with almost 20K words in it, and within minutes after it's approved, you get a 1 or 2 vote, along with a nasty comment, that's not the feedback anyone should receive.
