I started watching this when it first started and it's been reeling me in steadily ever since. The series is essentially an amalgamation of modern day intrigue and old fashioned fairy tale fantasy, with some rather clever twists on the traditional fairy tales of yore.

Briefly the plot involves a bunch of fairy tale characters being transported into the real world where they have no memory of who they used to be. The story is told through two settings, the present time where they go about their daily lives amidst small town drama and the past, where we learn about who they were in their past lives as well as some interestingly quirky or poignant secrets regarding their origins. If you haven't watched it, you definitely should. It builds up pace pretty steadily and I haven't been bored yet.

Anyway, I basically just wanted a place to talk about the show with fellow fans if there are any.

I've been watching since it first aired as well. I am a big fan. I liked last night's episode, but I am annoyed by the cliffhanger ending, as usual. I was so sad when Mary Margaret broke it off with David (Charming). The Mayor is downright terrifying. I love the kid. I wasn't sure Sherrif Blondie was a good fit for the role at first, but I think she is sitting well with me now that she is Sherrif. I was annoyed they had her make a fool of herself at that town meeting, though. And I'm annoyed she is supposedly so good at telling who is lying, yet hasn't realised the newspaper man is playing her.

Definitely a great show.

i loved last night's episode. i'm so glad they finally did something with ruby. that chick is seriously hot but i'm glad she's fulfilling a role more than eye candy now, and her story i felt was especially touching.

what i really love about it is how it gives depth to a whole lot of characters you might otherwise only regard as periphery.

i can't believe the huntsman is really gone. i was hoping it was just a bait and switch but it really looks like he's not coming back. :(

The huntsman? Yes, I had forgotten about him. The guy that died because the Mayor crushed his heart. That was sad, but he remembered who he was right before he died. That would have caused a ton of grief for the show. Where else could they have gone with that? He could either die, or be locked up in some asylum or room somewhere. Him dying was more interesting and it fueled other plot tidbits.

I'm guessing the Mayor put that box in the ground in last night's episode, but I can't for the life of me figure out why. If she wanted the woman dead, she could have just crushed the heart, no? So if she buries the heart does that magically transport the woman to some in between place that is neither Storybrooke nor the original fairytale land? Damnit I want to know now!

"I don't want my pain erased. As wretched as it is, I need my pain.
It makes me who I am. It makes me Grumpy"

That is something that I like a lot about the show. They leave enough fairy tale in the story to get by, but they tweak each character's story a bit. Either that or I just was never aware that dwarves were hatched from eggs and were brainwashed into being happy little mining slaves based on the original tales. I liked Grumpy's story, it was sweet and heartbreaking.

Edit to add: I liked how they made Red the wolf as well. Same idea there. They tweaked the red riding hood story and mingled other stories into it. Also, I damn well cried when Red realised she was the wolf and that she had murdered her lover. I didn't see that twist coming. Brilliant!

What 'Grumpy' said was the most honest and heartfelt statement that I've heard in a long time.

It was a real moment. What he said was so true to himself. Where so many can relate. Almost poetic.

they could have done something! lots of characters from the fairy tales did terrible things but they end up getting redeemed somehow, him seeking redemption might have been interesting. mostly i'm sad cos i wanted emma to have a love interest.

the mayor is a weird and interesting character. you love to hate her but then sometimes she shows a part of her that is just slightly sympathetic. what i really want to know about her is what love she lost that snow white took from her.

i don't think the mayor killed that chick. i mean they were friends or something right? if you recall, when she crashed her car she was found by her love from the fairy tales, the guy who charming rescued with that magic water. so what happened to her i don't know, but i'm not sure if that heart that was found really belonged to her.

Yeah the last two episodes were both really good. Lots of great moments.

Ok so, they sort of eluded towards David being a werewolf, did you guys get that feeling or was it just me? Do you think they want us to think that, but there will be some other explanation for his wandering in the woods in some kind of trance during a full moon? I hope he isn't a wolf, I'd like to see him and Snow live happily ever after, and you know, not have to deal with him having a need to maim living beings every time there is a full moon.

i loved, loved, loved that. and it was so tragic and sad when she found out who she really was, but cool at the same time in that it turns her from being a mary-sue victim to being an interesting, empowered character.

also, megan ohry. so hot. jesus.

Actually, I have absolutely no recollection of who found her. I am wracking my brain trying to think of who it was, either in the Storybrooke world or the fairy world. I can't recall. I guess I'll have to Google and see if I can read up on his back story to jog my memory.

I don't think she is dead either, but it was a human heart that was found, and the Mayor was big on collecting hearts, so I dunno. I don't think she killed her, but I think she knows what happened to her.

Oh, right! I just remembered after re-reading your post. The guy Charming rescued, yes! He was a solid gold statue, because King Midas had touched him by accident, I remember the guy now. Did they walk off into the woods together after the crash?

the episode was about her and david. well, princess abigail and prince charming. charming is about to run off to go find snow, and abigail catches him. she says she wants to help him, because she doesn't want to marry him either, because she's in love with someone else.

her lover is a gold statue in the forest who was turned into gold by midas' touch. abigail tells charming the curse can only be broken with magic water from the lake, so charming goes to defeat the sea witch or something, brings the water back, sprinkles it on gold-statue-lover-boy who comes back to life. he reunites with abigail, she sends prince charming off to go find snow.

catherine - abigail's storybrook alter ego, drives off leaving david a letter that she wants him to be happy. the letter is stolen by regina. catherine gets into a car accident. her car is found by the man who is the current incarnation of golden-statue-lover boy. end episode.

that's what i recall from memory.

i actually don't know, it was another one of those irritating cliffhangers. i think she must be alive, but i have no idea what happened to them.

I remember the lover in fairy tale land but did they do anything with outlining his character in Storybrooke land? I can't recall anything about him besides the statue story.

Also when he found the car, did they show him finding her as well or just that he found the car? I totally can't remember.

I like the writer guy. I can't figure him out. He can come and go from Storybrooke, and that whole thing he did with the kid's book and the wishing well and making sure the book came back to Emma? Nifty. Did they tell us who he was in Fairy land yet? Fucksakes I need cliff notes to keep it all straight.

I have missed so much in this show by missing the last two weeks! I had better catch up tonight.

I haven't seen this one!
