Some Pizza Hut and Domino's in certain urban areas have begun refusing to deliver pizza to certain neighborhoods at night.

Is this racism? or is it just good business practice?

Personally, I think that there is nothing wrong with this. I know that cab drivers have had this policy for years. There are many neighborhoods that cab drivers won't frequent at night.

Leave it to Fox to take a story that's 5 years old and call it news.

Did Homer tell ya that one?

good business practice..... I was in LA and went into a Pizza hut, the employees were behind bullet proof glass, you paid through a slot and a large metal drum was what your pizza was put in, they set it inside and turned it like a large lazy susan til it opened on the customer side. Guards were in the lobby

I am from a small town. The Domino's Pizza there has been robbed at least 3 times that I know of, probably more. The haven't taken precautions to that extent yet, but they should.

Its not about race, its about safety. The Domino's here won't deliver to one of the college dorms for same reason. If the drivers get harrassed in certain neighborhoods they shouldn't have to go back. Its a dangerous enough job as it is. A driver got killed in a small town ner here about 4 months ago.

You must live where Piza places are slow to catch on. That news is at least ten years old here in the Las Vegas Metropolitan area.

Yes, I'm aware that this is "old news", but several groups in a few inner cities have brought law suits to force pizza companies to deliver to "unsafe" areas. Hell, just close those places then to save the headache. I'll be damned if I would deliver pizza to any unsafe neighborhood at night...no matter what race the citizens were.

Maybe Pizza places need to tack on a surcharge for delivering to hazardous areas.

"That'll be $11.95 for the Pizza, $.83 for the tax, an $129.99 for the armed escort."

"See you honor, we don't refuse to deliver there, they just don't want to pay a reasonable delivery fee."
