On August 19, Gaga*Biden said “if there are American citizens left, we’re going to stay until we get them all out.”

He lied.

And they will be killed

Don't you know?

"Officially" those people don't want to leave.

Probably some of the Democrat enablers of the Taliban. ;) ;) :p

Not trying to excuse Biden's botched up retreat
I, too see it as a disgraceful.

But overseas outlets keep pointing at the waste of trillions of dollars (which could have covered Americans' cancer treatment and so on) during these 20 years. Nevermind the lives lost.

This is what I don't understand about Republicans.

They don't agree when workers ask for pay rises, because it will unbalance the economy (and there IS truth to that).
Yet they accept unconditionally the annual billions of dollars that get poured, FROM taxpayers' taxes, into the military overseas.

Trillions are no longer a significant amount to our government.

They easily will spend a trillion before sitting down to breakfast.

You do realize that a lot of that spending came from the Obama administration too...

Right?

Yes!
And also Obama's bail-out of Wall Street.
There never was a callous war-mongering, croney person elevated at the tank of sainthood by Democrats. Only because he's Black. Crazy....

I don't understand why Dem. and Rep. laypeople don't forget their differences and unite forces to change the system. Whoever will be elected president (Rep or Dem), no matter how good his intentions, he can't beat the croney-ness and corruption.
And same goes over here.

That seems to me to be a big generalization. I’m conservative (The GOP seems to be not much different than the Democrats politically.) and no, I don’t support trillions of dollars going to the “military overseas!” I DO believe in a strong, well funded military in order to project American power worldwide as well as its use to keep the peace when necessary. The world is filled with evil dictatorships and when whenever America is deemed by these Dictatorships to be weak and unwilling to keep them in check by responding militarily to dictators unlawful actions, all hell breaks loose around the globe. It happened under Obama, Clinton and now Biden. However, endless wars seem futile. Should we pull our troops out of Germany? They did start two world wars that cost a lot of Americans their lives. Korea? That could turn fugly quickly. Japan? They wouldn’t likely cause problems. But what do we do about China’s aggressive military posture? 90+% of the computer chips America uses in production are made in Taiwan. If the CCP takes over Taiwan, it would likely cause our economy to collapse in the short run. Israel is a stabilizing force in the Middle East. The Middle East, like it or not, is critical to the worlds energy supply. Should the U.S. military not have a presence in the Middle East and support Israel? All complicated, not easy to answer questions.

If we left Japan, they could nuke up in a heartbeat
and thusly render the region less, not more, stable.

The Middle East may be crucial to the world's energy supply,
but the only thing that makes it critical to ours
is the delusional wind/solar Left...

Biden is their willing puppet.
He will need their votes.

Good points.
I'm now backtracking a bit, and asking "Why don't Reps. similarly scrutinise the way in which the military budget is being used?

Republican massmedia is awash with articles that scrutinize and ask for justifications for EVERY cent spent on Health and so on. But they wrote few articles that inform people about how the military budget is being allocated.

They barely paid attention to the fact that the US wasted a fortune in Syria trying to build some buildings, but they borched that up & abandoned the project.

war is one thing

nation building is another

if we are threatened...WAR...WIN...LEAVE

Interesting.
I didn't know that!

How can the US government force American citizens out of a foreign country?

Nobody knows.
