a professional dominatrix said that a sub, who for example is tied up and dominated, is in fact the dominant one if he uses a safeword to end the act.

On using the safeword, the dom/me stops.

Do you agree?

Its hard to consider yourself the dominant person if your tied in the pose of 'St Andrews Cross' to a four poster bed, a butt plug in your ass, wearing nipple clamps, having your ass and back caned until your on fire, crying hardly able to remember your own name much less your safe word.

IMHO If he were not domineering in both deed and word I would let Him take me to such a demanding physical and emotional position.

The safe word is not intended as a party pooper, the 'get out jail free' card (Remember the game Monopoly?) or as a means to show your PYL who is really in charge.

It is a word that indicates that you have reached your limit in that situation.

A PYL who does not recognise the difference between pleasure/pain and real suffering is not a safe PYL.

Even beginner PYL's should understand it is better to, stop early and talk later, than end up with a dead sub who did not or could not use the 'safe' word.

You watch dangerous programmes they may have an interesting viewpoint; the potential of this programme is a PYL ending up a dead or irrepairably damaged pyl, simply because the PYL thought they were not really in control thanks to a TV programme:rolleyes:

NO

Ever watch video of wolf or dog social interaction???
When the one rolls over and exposes it's belly...Would you say that it is achieving Dominance???

No.. a safe word is a consideration that I allow...
I don't really have to.. But then, if the sub is even reasonably sane, she will not agree to the scene.

I think a particular word is being missed here ... "professional" ... In a professional situation the sub does have the power to end at any time ... Just something to consider.
