On a laptop

Anyone know how to turn off the hibernate feature... My screen shuts down after a few minutes with nothing going on and I just bought a gps system for it and today when learning it it kept going out. I need to have the screen stay on while I drive that way I don't need to hit a key every ten minutes or so..
Any advice?
