Omega Complex

Steven had sat through the briefing, met his new commander, and so on and now he had pretty much free time to check out his new mobile suit and work on a few other things, including training in the work out room. He wanted to check out the other pilots and men and women of the army so he knew what he had gotten himself into. After leaving the introduction session he headed for the dock/storage area and as he entered immediately saw his custom made suit. What a beautiful design, he thought as he looked at it as he approached. The odd thing was that it appeared to be an adaption of everything he was into a big machine of pure destruction.

Walking closer he placed his hand on the side of the suit before lowering the cockpit and raising himself up into his suit. Looking out the window as he now sat in his new 'toy' he looked at the three other custom suits that were also docked here. They were all truly amazing, how he had been chosen to pilot one of the four he could only say it was luck, although he did know that he was noted as one of the top pilots ever. Checking out the diagnostics he was truly amazed by how advanced it was, and even more amazed that the builders built it directly to how he would like it, with the stealth capabilities, melee, and laser and sniper capabilities.

Finally, as he lowered himself from the cockpit he continued to take a detail look around the suit. Minutes seemed to turn into hours as it took him forever to look over every detail. Steve knew he didn't belong anywhere but with and in his suit, and thats why he was stationed here. He knew no one, no one really knew him, and thats the way he liked it. Looking up into the cockpit of the suit he knew this was the beginning to his new life.

"I'm sure the other pilots have their own preparations to make for tomorrow, why don't we get some drinks just the two of us?"

Carl spoke as he descended one of the several metal swtichback staircases that connected the levels in the scaffolding. He hadn't been lying about the suit, it was quite impressive, sleek, fast, and with an impressive weapons loadout if the publications were to be believed.

"Tomorrow will be a long day, we should try to do a little relaxing tonight, don't you agree?"

He reached the ground floor and stood at the bottom of the stairs, looking over at his new commander.

"Yes, tomorrow's going to be a flury of activity and rightfully so. New suits and a new team just scream trouble. I suppose a little relaxation couldn't hurt."

Her posture seemed much more relaxed, even if her words still hinted at unease. Stepping away from her suit, Aya cast Rynne a look that could only be interperted as a 'goodbye.' Twisting her hair up from the base of her neck, she secured it into a loose bun and waited until the lieutenant was on her level.

"Well, the Officer's Wing is this way. Just out those doors is the secondary docking hanger. It's mostly used in case of emergency lock down; we try to get all the techs in there were something to happen in the main hanger. Let's see...on this level you'll find numerous training facilities. Above that is the mess and a few rec. rooms. Then you'll find the different conference rooms and the Officer's Wing is a floor above the conference rooms. And, as you know, housing is in a separate, but attatched, complex."

As they approached the elevators, Aya quickly punched in the access code and grinned when the doors swung open. The higher ups often had little 'cheats' too allow them to troll all over the Terra Une base with minimal effort.

"So, was this a military assignment or did you chose to work directly with Antol?"

Carl put on a mask of relaxation, walking easily with his hands in his pockets, but he listened intently, and noted every detail she spoke of as she described the facility. The Antollian facilities were very similar to the American facilities he was used to in layout, if not in decor and design.

"So, was this a military assignment or did you chose to work directly with Antol?"

He looked over at her sideways as they walked, unable to help but note that she was a very attractive woman, no doubt the result of her favorable breeding.

"I was chosen for this assignment based on my history, piloting ratios and all that, nothing too special"

"That's too bad. It really was a lovely country, once, before the King's brother decided to start his own rebellion. I wish our allies were meeting here on more favorable terms...it's a shame."

Aya always felt the same swell of pride when she talked about her country. Her hair and eyes were far too foreign to allow her to fit in Japan and she'd never really liked her mother's country. But Antol, regardless of her mixed parentage, had always welcomed her. At the same time she always felt badly about the damage done to the tiny country and the lives lost over such a senseless cause. Of course, she tried not to dwell on it; such feelings could easily become an interference.

"Oh, you must think we're terribly lax. I've heard stories of the American military and I saw the way you looked during the meeting...almost like we were children. I must admit, Lieutenant Alexander's behavior was rather shameful. In my country's defense, we may not seem up to par with your military's standards but we far than make up for it."

He was handsome, she mused, although quite a few years older. Which was to be expected considering how fast she climbed the ranks. Still, he seemed intelligent and hadn't talked down to her. Aya supposed it wouldn't be too horrible to have him on the team; even if she didn't have any real authority over him.

"Do you miss your home? I know, when I was away, that if I wasn't on the battlefield or training, I missed Antol terribly."
