Wonderful! :D I've never been envious of the athletes because I know of the tens of thousands of hours of discipline, pain and sacrifice that are required for them to climb Olympus - but now I am jealous!
 
At first I thought it looked a bit stupid. Not really sure what it looked like. But I've come to appreciate it. It is also very culturally significant for the Chinese.
 
I'm glad I don't have those hospital associations, because my first reaction when I saw it was a smile, and the thought that it's beautiful and wonderfully imaginative. :)
 
BMX - looks like a good sport. Not subjective, very athletic, lots of action, lots of drama. The only thing is, I expect them to all be 12 years old, but then you see breasts on the women, and when they take off the helmet they are - women! :D

Been around it all my life. My brother doubled (won two classes) at the ABA Grandnationals one year... '93 maybe? can't remember.

USA cycling's BMX director, Mike King, is better known to me as Mikey. He and his brother, retired pro Eddie, were guys from my area that got that coveted factory ride back in the day. SoCal is the birthplace of the sport, and I raced on some tracks like Rancho Downhill and Lakeside that are literally legendary to historians of the sport.

....and yes, I knew some very attractive young ladies that rode.

Good God - I just watched the women's 400 relay, and couldn't stop thinking about the sex article. :devil: :D 32 of the most gorgeous, awesomely fit young women in the world, all lined up and jostling, wearing skin-tight short-shorts or bikinis . . .

I didn't see the mens, but same-same. Oh, Olympic Village dreams tonight! :cool:

So, imagine that you are fortunate enough that your daughter is one of those golden children who has the talent, skill and discipline to belong to this tiny elite of god-like athletes who attain the heights of Olympus. She's on her way off to Beijing or London or Chicago - what do you tell her?
