I get that it is part of rhythmic gymnastics, but it just seems there should be a fancy name or term or description for each of the apparatus used. I should not have to call it ball dancing. The name should be more elaborate, like orb prancing.

It's about incorporating various flexibility and athletic moves with the apparatus so it flows seamlessly while showing skill.
I used to do rythmic gymnastics many, many yeas ago.
Never at their level, but I wasn't too bad (won a local comp once).
I am still flexible ehough to do the splits both ways and I still have a box full of my old apparatus.
