Who is your favorite "fantasy" artist? By that I mean person who draws women that make men drool all over themselves, and some of us women too.

My favorite has to be Royo, closely followed by Olivia. It was a hard decision to make, but in the end, Royo does the women I'd like to be, though Olivia's are a really close second. Though, for non-erotic, I really love Whelan's stuff. (He did the dragonriders of pern covers and alot of others).

Any other artists you know of?

I just wish that I had even the slightest amount of artistic ability that these people do.

Hmmm - I would say I prefer ...

.. no wait - I guess.... uhmmm - or no maybe ...

Damn woman - you have listed like all my favs here (plus I have a few more like Hajime).

I really prefer one over the other depending on my mood but sure .. love them all!!!!!!

I'm not all that familiar with any of them, but I have seen Olivia stuff and I liked it.

You know who I like, who's not a fantasy artist per se but paints wonderful nudes? Maxwell Parish. I know, he's contemporary, he's pop, blah blah...but I love his use of color, and I love the wispy fragility of his women.

I mentioned before Jonathon Earl Bowser was my fav.

It's interesting how many women are rather fond of erotic art, as opposed to pics.

Check out Jennifer Janesko:

As you can see by the pics of her she is a very attractive woman who does very attractive women. LOL! One of her works is "Siren." I wonder if that's our Siren.

The poster that my daughters refer to as "that dirty old man poster" that hangs on my wall is by Greg Hildebrant. I've never tried to find any of his work online.

I prefer the realism of Janesko to the fantasy art of Vallejo or Royo. They are all fantastic artists but Janesko’s work just makes me drool. I see myself more as the women she draws. My husband is an airbrush artist and has collector cards by Olivia and Vallejo. Judging by the amount he has I would say he prefers Olivia.

But I know what you mean KillerMuffin, it’s hard seeing him re-create some of Olivia’s work and yet I can’t get the color right on the living room walls.

Interestingly enough, that pic by Vallejo that I pasted is just how I see our lovely Rosebud. Except she's got a puter instead of a glass ball...

I'll check these artists out :)

Is Soryama considered amongst these or is he more erotic than fantasy? In either case I really like his work.

Going off the examples given, I think I like Vallejo the best. But I know nothing about art, and even less about Erotic art. His painting just seemed more feminine to me - that's why I prefered it.

Fucking awsome............I too have never seen any of this stuff.
I have been looking to get a new tat on my chest or back and this is just what I was looking for.........great art........Good topic KillerMuffin........Any others took me hours on those sites...

For fantasy art I like Boris Vallejo. For just beautiful pitures of women, Vargas.

Great Topic!

My all time favorite is Royo.. I like Boris also but to me most of his women look too masculine.. i suppose that is because the largest majority of his models are body builders. Royo's art is more feminine and erotic to me... and so inspiring.

This is my question to you all on this subject... Have any of these works inspired your writing?

IE: here's a poem of mine that was inspired by some of Royo's work

The Huntress

Cloaked in a facade of darkness
She silently stalks the night
A huntress faced with denial
Always evading the light

Protected by the armor of her foes
She hunts for truth and right
A jeweled dagger at her side
Prey captured by her sight

She approaches with graceful stealth
A strong soul never knowing fright
Solid steel collides with rancid flesh
No chance of escaping death's might

Victorious once more
Yet finding no end to her plight
Lone journey into the millennium
A huntress by birth right

(if i can find the pic again i'll post it)
