Tequila Sunrise said:It is wonderful to be appreciated. The posts I've read on this thread remind me that there are still sensible people in the world. As I look back on my own life, I'm dumbfounded by my ignorance. It took me years to understand the beauty of this world. I am not old; I am mid 40's, but it isn't until recently that I began to appreciate the people and things around me. Hell, I can even remember taking sex for granted. What a fool! A woman willing to share herself with me in the most intimate way possible, and I didn't appreciate it. Yes, ladies. Give us more mature fellas a chance. As Toby Keith said, "I ain't as good as I once was, but I'm as good once as I ever was."

I'm in my early thirties, and I feel like I just woke up from some almost three-decade long sleep.
I appreciate things now in a way I didn't before. Seeing the things that have always been there with new eyes.
I look for certain qualities -- age, really, is irrelevant. It's just that those particular qualities don't seem to exist in men my age or younger. And not to pick on you, TS, because I thought your post was lovely, but I think what you've experienced is the crux of it : Men and women are "maturing" later in life. It takes a while to form a true appreciation for people, and not just in that "Oh, I'm appreciative of sex" sort of way, but true appreciation : understanding how past mistakes helped form the person who stands before you today. Appreciation for who they are, what they do, how they live their life.
Isn't that the most basic of human needs beyond food and shelter? To be appreciated?
And I've gone off on a tangent.
My point is this : Gotta love the older lads. They're the whole kit and kaboodle.

CADreaming said:*raising my hand* Yes, please! I've always been attracted to older men, and any older guys in Southern California looking to make it a reality for me, let me know! There's just something about the "lessons learned" kind of guy, who's experienced (well, sexually experienced, but also just life-experienced) and mature... *sigh*

to you.tn_greeneyez said:Older men are wise (usually) and experienced beyond younger. What some might lack in youthful experience, is more than covered by their knowledge of women and how to play a woman's body like a fine guitar, plucking each string perfectly........creates wonderful tonal harmony........in my opinion.
Thanks! I lurked about for awhile, but I'm glad I posted!koalabear said:Welcome to the thread......![]()

Both of you ladies have really thought things out and any man whether older or younger would be glad to be with you. I've always been concerned about the maturity of a younger woman, but you have both changed my mind.to you.
