Purely because I believe in a relationship I should be comfortable with that person interacting with my family and friends and I don't believe they would be happy with me dating someone too much older. Not sure that anyone else has a right to judge you, but it seems to be you show a refreshing honesty, combined with a most realistic appreciation of what would be possible within the confines of your family.
