I find that often what I want in a life partner and what I want in a sexual partner do not always coincide. I have been lucky enough to find a life partner who is strong enough to deal with my additional needs and not feel intimidated or as if it lessens or cheapens our primary relationship. I have no urge for my life partner to be submissive or dominant but I do have that need and seek it out in other people. In the relationship I desire with a sub(s) we are not partners.

Perhaps the answer is to find a strong life partner who accepts or even appreciates your need to have a sub. They do exist.

This is an interesting concept and certainly employed by many people in the scene.
