Alright ya'll this is what this is all about. I like a lot of "old school" stuff, I use this term for lack of a better one. I was just thinking it would be fun to list stuff here that we miss. Be it a celebrity you miss...ie:River Phoenix, or a old brand of shampoo ie: Gee, Your Hair Smells Terrific, anyhow, I will start and I guess we will see how this goes..... I miss Richard Pryor, I love him and I miss seeing him healthy and muthafucking (ode to RP)hilarious... I miss those cool plastic shoes ...I think we called them jellies.. So, take it from there folks....I look forward to some great answers.......

hey I can find one of those for you

LOL, how funny that your answer was snap bracelet. I was just at my 10 year old niece's birthday party and she gave those out in her goody bags... I just thought...yep it's true eveything seems to make it's way back in to fashion...... She had really neat ones though.. they all had animal print cloth covering them...

The "crack" of a wooden bat against a baseball.

Great big cars with V8's in them.

Walter Cronkite.

Banana bikes.

Electronic devices with knobs.

Quarterbacks that called the plays.

I could go on and on.

ah good old banna bike

I had a great one my granddaddy got for me at a police auction. I loved it, and then I had to give it up when everyone else had a ten speed.... I came up with some more things I miss. I miss Captain Caveman...lol... I really loved that cartoon.

old country

I tell you what I really miss...ALOT!!! I miss Hank Williams Jr. I love him and I am so mad how he get's dissed by the country music world. I also miss Ronnie Milsap, he is so talented and you never hear him or like I said before Hank, on the damn radio. It sure does get my goat, both of these guys are, in my opinion way better than any Tim McGraw or Billy Ray Cyrus....

pogo sticks..romper room..

shrinky dinks
add-a-bead necklaces
gloria vanderbilt jeans
pee-wee herman show
the old metal slinkys.. not the plastic ones.
Grandmaster Flash
Blondie
The Waltons
Little House on the Prairie
The Fonz

hands DriveSouth a tissue

~Weeble Peeple, ~bigleague chewing gum, ~Fantasy Island, ~T.J. Hooker, ~Tab (actually I don't miss this product that much, I saw some in a old store the other day, so of course I bought the crap, on the side of the can it pretty much tells you if ya drink too much of this it will kill ya, too much saccarine(ms) )

Ok, its a guy thing (maybe) but I miss muscle cars, Big
v-8's, dual carbs, dual exhaust, headers, bored and stroked, Air shocks to jack up the back end for the big 60 series tires, 4 speed (not 5).

Lost my virginity in a "65 mustang fastback, loved that fold down rear seat.

My Raleigh three-speed (screw ten speeds!). Roller skates -- the kind with a key -- that would gouge the hell out of your heel after a wipe-out. The two pine trees in front of the Hoffman's house where I always, er, wiped out.

Love cologne and cosmetics (remember the phallus-shaped containers?). Yardley's Slicker Dolly lipslicks. Mary Quant glitter nail polish.

Wood and leather platform shoes. Fringed suede vests and headbands. Ravi Shankar.

The knowledge that I could do anything I wanted, and nothing and no one could stop me.

Being a guy, old cars, of course, though I still run into those fine classics every now and again. I had 1956 Corvette that I'd love to own again. Oh well. In Mid-May they'll have a car show in downtown San Rafael with hundreds of rods and classics lining the curb. If you're around Northern California and like cars, its the place to be.

I also miss those days when kids could play in the street or ride their bikes a couple of miles to swim in the lake without everyone worrying they were about to be kidnapped. Were those the "good old days?"

old school.
