Old School Musicianship… Rock and Roll.. Jazz… Blues… Big Band even…

Exhibit E - and I performed this song on stage at my first professional gig without having ever heard the song. The guitar player taught me the day before the gig (I was on bass). Frankly, I was a little bummed when I heard the original, our version had more fire. 🤣🤣🤣

Dwight Yoakam - Fast As You

She is another one of those amazing artists I missed out on at the time, because I was nauseated by what was played on the radio, so I stopped listening (and missed some cool stuff!)

Sheryl Crow - Steve McQueen

just going to change the name a bit to....."Man I Want to feel Shania".....just my sense of humor
You are a musician right? Les Paul gold top.. right?

Do you also love how she used some guys who clearly are only there to look good, because they could not play anything to save their souls… 🤣🤣🤣

That tickles me silly! Like she was giving the finger to Robert Palmer (nothing against him, but that video was … whatever)

I watched a one hour performance of Case, Lang, Veirs in Portland 2016....a one hour performance, those girls harmonize beautifully, and the band is superb, well worth giving a listen....I heard the song "Atomic Number" on a local radio station, but the live sound is my fav

What? In Portland??? In 2016??? And you survived?? Good for you! I was born there, lived there for years… won’t go back, it is clearly a very different place now.

I am a wanna be musician....I loved the playing of Snowy White whom played for Floyd and Roger Waters and his pride and joy was the Gibson Gold Top, that he now has sold as he stopped touring.....The Comfortable Numb solo from from Roger Waters(In the flesh Live)....its a dual guitar solo, and its the best one I have ever heard, and I am a David Gilmour fan....the high end tones of that Gibson, he just makes that guitar sing

High end tones… Les Paul? Brother, we need to break out my Gibson, Strat and Tele… the Les Paul has a huge, fat, meaty sound… the strat has a thin, high almost screaming sound (I think most Gilmoir solos are a strat)… and the Telecaster has an almost thinner sound, but! When you are playing with a bigger band, other guitars, keyboard… the Tele cuts through all that stuff and just sounds incredible! Right out there, but not stepping on anything.

Jimmy Page used a tele often, even though he is known for being a Les Paul guy… those big, fat, heavy Led Zep licks? That is a Les Paul (humbuckers, of course). But (and I do not know, just guessing), the guitar solo when all those other instruments are playing in Stairway? Probably Jimmy’s Telecaster.

My experience with my Les Paul is, it sounds incredible… but if there are too many instruments in the same sonic range, it either is not prominent (behind them all), or it is f-ing Godzilla stomping all over them!

Don’t get me wrong, for decades my favorite guitar was the Gibson Les Paul… but it is not perfect for every situation.

The solo in that song was where I fell in love with the Gibson.....just the high end tones

Well… now I want to hear it… because I doubt that is a Les Paul making high end tones… unless they are super fat, pure tones… 🥰🥰🥰

Can you find a youTube of it to share with me?

I am off to research this guy... Gotta hear him! 🤣🤣
its a Daily Motion clip, not you tube.....I tried saving it and posting it.....again not working.....Search Comfortable Numb-Roger Waters-In the Flesh Live......and the dual solo is the second one at the end
