I was cleaning out a pile of old stuff from my college days and I came across my old posters that I had on my wall.

Needless to say I am mortified.

Not because they aren't cool anymore but because it looks like my life at the time was dedicated to shouting out to visitors

1) How much weed I smoked
2) How I watched cooler movies and listened to better music
3) How much more righteous my politics were/are


Are all rooms this obnoxious in college?

there aren't any posters in my room, just a bunch of postcards, magazine clippings, poems, drawings and paintings (my roommate is an artist). i don't think it is particularly obnoxious.

When I was in college I had hung on my wall a print of John William Waterhouses "Lady of Shalott" (the one in the boat, not at the loom), a self portrait in charcoal that I did (lord knows why I hung it up except my walls were bare) and a calendar.

Honestly, I was up at the Alma Mater for homecoming this week and I was talking to buddies arguing about X-Box or the latest Egoyan film and I just wanted to crawl into a hole and die.

The name change is based on convenience, so stick it in your craw.
