I was reading the H&S listings when I hit on this one.
"The Deadbeat Club Ch. 01 & 02
http://www.literotica.com/stories/showstory.php?id=301866&page=1

bwilson from '07 gave me a good read and a new appreciation for what it is we do.

I don't know if he can read this but, I really liked his style and brevity. An odd sort of story that needed 'Lit' to exist.

I put it in the AH, because it stretches the 'Erotica" medium into reality. What do you think?

I've actually never read a non-erotic here on Lit, so I was trippin' along nicely, enjoying the story. Up. Until. That. Last. Part. of chapter one. I can't get myself to go on. While the story was unique and had me pulled along, I just can't overcome my aversion to incest, and I'm not sure it's a feeling I want to numb.

He does have a spare, yet clear style.

Chapter two informs us that the protagonist also has an aversion to incest.

Thanks, JL, for the link to the story.

I particularly liked this line:

Barring early tragedy, there comes that morning we all wake up to realize that we have more past than future.

Regardless of whether or not he came up with it himself, it's nice to find gems like that tossed among the weeds.

Then I shall carry on! :)

Thanks for the heads-up, Jack. :D I would have never read these stories had you not found them.

I like jwilson's sparse, almost staccato style. In a way it reminded me of the dialogue on the 'Dragnet' TV series..."Just the facts, ma'm." In content, it reminded me of 'Seinfeld"... a show (or stories) about nothing...nothing except our day to day existence and the people in it.

I always heard the getting old realization comment as 'Having more road behind you than in front of you'...both say it pretty well. ;)

I random read a little every month, and don't do incest by choice, but the way he handled it was interesting.
I have a tenancy to do "Blow by Suck" sex scenes and yet in "main line fiction" that is not tolerated by publishers. He showed me it isn't necessary. At least in the sparse Hemingway style, nor with any other voice, I suppose. Fade to Black, and deal with the consequences, to keep the action moving.

I think the author was playing with the readers by doing everything even if it was disgusting, to "cover all the bases" as it were.

He wrote another story which was different, but had almost the same voice. The same noir attitude. He hasn't many storys up and hasn't put anything up since '07.

Ask anyone, I rarely do sex scenes at all because I suck at it... but don't tell anyone. They all think I know what I'm doing.

Since youre new here, please understand that we dont do questions about how soon your story will be posted. One of our senior members becomes unhinged when you ask such questions. Thank you.

Umm. Sooo ... with over 9,000 posts, how does it feel to be considered 'new' here?

I'm new all this writing stuff, and for some reason it gives me great comfort when I hear an experienced writer say they have trouble writing sex scenes. It's a lot to co-ordinate! Five senses, body parts (lots of body parts), internal dialogue . . .

I'm fairly new and you're a returning 'cast member', but let me say welcome back. :)

Driphoney, it's really all in a point of view. There is not sex in Humor where I write mostly. Frankly, sex isn't funny. Trying desparately to have sex and failing is funny. So I really haven't had that much experience writing sex scenes and, to be honest, I feel they provide a window into intimate places that belong only to me.
That said, I find it a lot more fun to write sex and laugh at it. I tend to dredge up images buried deep in the memories of the readers. And people remember good times and humeroust occurances rather than the dark things that have happened to them.

Me either. They feel forced when I add them.

I do better in non-erotic or romance for sure.

So, does this mean we can expect more Harry Dick misadventures? :D

Not sure. He has a whole stack of Penthouse magzines with dog eared corners he's working on (so to speak, if you know Harry you know what I mean). The little wanker has grown lazy as of late.

I may have to prod him with an electric dildo or something. We'll see.
