You either start a thread(s) or participate in a thread(s) where you behave like a complete asshole. You run roughshod over people and sling insults like PC only wishes he could. Or you start a ration of shit and stir it until you know someone else feels totally worthless over it.

Then it hits you, you've been an asshole. You're wrong about what you've just done.

What now?

Probably go into hiding and never return. But then I'm a chicken.

For me that is a simple answer. Apologize both in PM and Public. Of course I don't like ticking people off or being an asshole.

Go into hiding for at least a week.

After that? Depends on the offense.

Apologize if possible, make gestures towards reconciliation, keep posting and try to live it down.

As for me, I would cry, throw up, scream and hit/bite myself, ask God to kill me where I stood, and finally go to sleep hoping I never have to wake up again, possible with chemical aid, but I don't think I honestly want to reccomend that course of action.

I haven't been in that situation as of yet. However, I would like to think I would take a few steps back...reevaluate the situation. Then own up to the responsibility of admitting I was wrong. Pride doesn't usually get in the way of me admitting when I have been wrong. Hell, I am wrong often!
Keeping with honesty, I think the first thing I would do is eat some chocolate and wash it down with Pepsi. Come back to the boards when I am out of my sugar coma and apologize.

I decided a long time ago, if I didn't have anything nice to say on the boards I wasn't going to post anything at all.

I've held my tongue so much lately that it hurts.

The boards are slipping back into the "shit cycle". I'm patiently waiting for the "rinse cycle". So everything will be nice and clean again.
