I admit it... I am a closet breakfast cereal fanatic...

I seriously CANNOT go grocery shopping without purchasing cereal... jus't doesn't happen.

I spend WAY too much time in that cereal isle.

Someone asked what my favorite was and I tilted my head to the side... sort of like how dogs do when you confuse them... I had no clue how to respond... it was terribly sad... I mean HOW to choose?

*Raising Right Hand* ... "I... Jade... am a breakfast cereal fanatic."

There are just TOOOOO many!!

Right at the moment, I am working on a huge bowl of banana nut crunch and after I am going for some Grape Nuts O's... MMMMMY

Any thoughts?

Yeah, you're missing the chocolate. I have cocoa krispies and cocoa puffs in my pantry.

HELL yea!!

Well, maybe I don't have chocolate cereal but I'll betcha over all I have more chocolate over here than ANYONE... not that that is anything to brag about my hot damn ...

Crunch Berries
Peanut Butter Crunch
Apple Jacks
Frosted flakes

:)

Sorry jade. I wouldn't know.
My breakfast contains Half a gallon of coffee, down the gullet. Smoking cigarets. And perhaps a piece of toast.

Cinnamon Life
Waffle Crisp
Golden Grahams

(i too am a cereal fanatic.. i was a babysitter for 5 years... kids live on it and got me hooked)

have you tried thise milk and cereal bars?

they rock and are easier to eat on the way to work than a bowl of cereal LOL

CARINI: HECK YEA!!

I love those AND granola bars and cliff bars and ... oh god...

CURLY: PB crunch ROCKS!! Peanut butter is an aphrodisiac for me though...

my sis and i go through like 3 boxes a week of those milk and cereal bars... they are perfection

Cinnamon Toast Crunch, crumbled up over ice cream.

(love cereal, hate breakfast)

Me too, especially the flavored ones like peaches and cream.

As for cold cereals:

For nostalgia, I like LIFE...my mom always had that stuff in the house.

For good taste and fiber for the ol' colon, there's Raisin Bran.

And for just plain good I like grape nuts flakes.

CREAMY: One question... favorite flavor... if you had to choose? Me: MAPLE BROWN SUGAR... aWE YEA

Kitten OH GOD... WHat a great idea!! OMG.. I am thinking about vanilla bean ice cream or even cinnamon ice cream... f@#$#@$ yea.

*sighing with eyes closed*

It varies. Mostly, I make the slow-cooking kind, McCann's Irish Oatmeal, and I usually throw a handful of raisins into it. Sometimes cinnamon; sometimes brown sugar. Sometimes all of the above.

I've also drizzled maple syrup or honey into it.

However, if I'm pressed for time, I use the McCann's instant oatmeal, and I use the Maple Brown Sugar flavor; also throwing in the raisins.

cereals... my God our household is full of them

Rice Crispies with fresh strawberries sliced over it? Mmmm

I like Basic4.. has nuts, dates, raisens crispies and flakes. Very good.

Special K with sliced banannas

Oatmeal - the instant-raisens & spice!

If I'm choosing the sugary kind of cereal, which I rarely do nowadays.. Honeycomb or Sugarpops; Frosted Flakes or Frootloops.

Honeycomb is a staple in my pantry. I can't live without it. It sits very obediently right beside my Frosted Shredded Wheat.

I have Rice Crispies, but that's only because I like to melt 'em down with marshmallow cream every so often...NUMMY!

Once in a blue moon, I'll get a craving for: Lucky Charms, Captain Crunch's Peanut Butter Crunch, Sugar Pops (or Sugar Corn Pops...whatever they call it this week), and Sugar Crisps (Or Sugar Golden Crisps...whatever they're calling it this week ;-).

And here I sit with a grapefruit at my desk.

Damn.

MP ;)

All I know is I cannot keep Golden Grahams in my house for nuthin'. I'll buy 'em one day, the next--poof!

The Legend of Quisp and Quake

Yes, I was so delighted to see the return of "Quisp" in the grocery store. I can't begin to convey the joy I experienced. "Quisp" (extraterrestial) had an arch nemesis named "Quake" (beefy miner) and on the boxes were ballots, yes you had to vote whether or not to kill "Quake."

The ballots were counted, and we saw "Quake" (crunchy little cogs, much like "King Vitamin") disappear, only to resurface "New And Improved." Now our hero had cleaned himself up, dropped a few pounds, donned a cowboy hat and took to hanging out with a "Quangaroo."

"Quake" cereal had also become more aerodynamic and easier on the roof of your mouth, but didn't last very long, it was replaced by "Quangaroos" (orange flavored crunch berries?) and loyal "Quake" supporters mourned, while "Quisp" remained unruffled and assured.

I ate the whole box in one sitting.

Despite my nick, I'm not a cereal afficionado.

Have you tried those Reese Peanut Butter Puffs? Tasty stuff! How can you consider it a breakfast food though? Heck, that's a snack!

Do you know that Corn Bran is quite tasty.

Anyone like Quaker Harvest Crunch? I like the stuff but it makes you full so fast!

I can't recall the last time I had some.

K

The Quisp and Quake vote must be one of the greatest advertising campaigns in history. I don't know how many sales it racked up, but it caused tremendous excitement (and arguments) among the pre-teen set, and those kids, now grown, still remember it 25 years later.

Quisp is in only about 5 ciites now, and Quaker has found that the best way to sell it is on the net. http://www.quisp.com

Jade, here's a general cereal link for you: http://www.wenet.net/~iandg/cereal.htm
