Okay, can someone explain to me something about the FBI?

Hoover's FBI was a different organization than we imagine

Rex Stout (Author of the Nero Wolfe mystery series) took issue with the FBI on a couple of occasions. In one, he arranged to have to FBI think his charictor was out of the house so they would do one of their infamous black bag breaking and entering jobs. I wish I could say it was all fiction, but the FBI was doing tons of black bag breaking and entering jobs.

It's important to note that G. Gordon Liddy of Watergate fame was a former FBI agent, which is where he learned the dirty tricks he was using for the RNC. One crying shame about the Watergate mess was that Nixon was dumb enough to cover the scam up, to protect his people. He would have finished his term if he had just stood there before the press and said "I have just learned that a member of my staff working to get me re-elected had ordered the break in at the Watergate Hotel. I have fired the man, and notified the Attorney General to launch a full investigation." His Presidency might be more remembered for his opening relations with China had he done the right thing when he learned about the break in.
