OK the Christmas decorations are going up!

Put the lights on my 45 foot Spruce today. One more 30 footer to do tomorrow, then go nuts stringing lights all over the outside of the house. Not turning them on till after Turkey Day, but it is nice not to have to fight bad weather to get them out. The power company loves me at Christmas time.....MORE POWER!!!!!!

This is from 2 years ago.

we have alot over the last couple of years.

the whole yard has white lights on it.. we have moved those lights to the roof because of having two dogs..

we also have a life size sleigh and reindeer we made last year, which i can't seem to find pictures of. But in a few weeks, i will post this years display

Husband hasn't counted the lights yet.. I'll have a total when we are done tho..

Your house looks magnificent! I'm so jealous. Every year when I put up the Christmas lights, it never fails that a few of the sets will stop working on the second day of lighting them. It drives me crazy and I become obsessed with finding out the problem. Why is it that the boxes say when one light goes out the others stay on? That is not always true. Just come to my house two days after I put the lights on and you'll see for yourself. lol

We have over 200 strands of lights.. they start going up now.. are finished by the day before Thanksgiving... and are turned on from Thanksgiving day until New Years day..

35,000 lights, I had to install a 200 amp service to this ole house to handle the load. HEHEHE

2 years ago.. the electric company put in an extra pole for us. It's only used during christmas.. Our electric bill is outrageous.. hehehe.. i love it

I went and got my Christmas stuff out of storage today....I have to wait til monday and sneak it all up while my husband is at work though I just love it all to much to only have it up a few weeks I stretch it out longer and longer every year...eventually I'm going to be the crazy old lady who thinks it's Christmas ALL year!

i would love to put up lights outside but i dont have any exterior plugs and the only one is in the back of the house.
of course being on an open corner lot, there are always a few
idiots on their way to school who have nothing better to do but do a snatch and grab and pull the decorations down.

i love to drive around a look at the lights on the houses. some of them are fantastic. i think we should start a thread for posting pics. they dont have to be "ours" but something from the neighbourhood we live in.

maybe start Dec 1?
