OK I mean, im sorry she died and all, but damn, on VH1 you would have thought her death was bigger than Elvis, the Beatles, all being killed in the same car crash. It sucks that she died like I said, but what did she really bring to the music scene? I don't think she made such an impact on music that she needed 24 hours coverage on VH1 and MTV for 5 days in a row. But hey, thats just my 2 cents.

so you made up a thread to talk about it here. OK...

Hehehe.... that is kind of ironic. I find it awfully sad that only famous people have their deaths plastered among the media. People die of horrible accidents everyday, but we only hear about the deaths of the rich and famous. In the obituaries yesterday, there was a couple who had been killed in a car accident exactly one month before their wedding date.

I haven't seen any of the coverage (too cheap to pay for cable tv) but it's not like MTV has anything better to talk about. Theydo the story because it's what most of their viewers want to see.

I do find it really touching when they show the clip of her with the fried egg on her eye.

I had never heard of her until she died, and then I was watching a "Behind the Music" thing about her the other night.

I'm glad she died.

whether or not she was an "Elvis" or not. She was a human being who had her life cut short by a tragity. Im sorry its interupting your VH1 viewing.

i dont think its so much that her vh1 viewing was interrupted, i think its more that you only see these tributes to the celebrity/famous people when they die. what aobut the firefighter that was trying to save the family down the street and burned to death (just an example)? you wont see a tribute to him plastered all over the news, not even the local news for that matter. personally, i dont care to see it. i watch vh1 and mtv more so i can hide from reality and pretend the serious stuff isnt really happening and i can concentrate more on my studies, but its really hard to do that when all i'm hearing about on those channels is how so and so died in a car crash. and i would watch more cartoons (my fave) but there arent that many good ones anymore on cartoon network.. at least not when i'm able to watch them anyways

Whoa!! I don't have Mtv or Vh-1. So I'm just now finding about it here.

Thank You for the info. I'll have to look up on how she died, since I don't want to ask here and continue the discussion. ;)

( Can someone please tell me. lol )

personally I enjoyed TLC and I understand she lead a very odd life, and I agree with what another person said everyday someone's life is cut short and just because there not famous there face isnt plastered all over, death is sad plain and simple no matter the age or orgin of the death, but its also part of life

Lisa Left Eye was in Honduras, on a search for inner peace. She had a crew with her filming the search (When you search for inner peace you think you're interesting). She was driving them all in a rented van, and she was speeding (When you realize that you want inner peace you want to hurry up and get it) and flipped off the road. Everyone else lived. R.I.P ?

The general opinion about her death were i am is basically "woopy fucking do"
I mean if someone in the street, a no body, yet someone with a family of 4 small children died no one who didnt know that person would give a shit.
So lets not make a big deal about it just because someone famous died, she wasnt any more important than the rest of us, and she isnt a better human being than the rest of us.
Yes she died, its sad, get over it.
People die every single day and no one who isnt directly connected to them cares unless they are famous and that is a shitty reason to make such a fuss.

What did she do.......

.....that was greater than the EMT in Wichita, Kansas, the nurse in Gallup, New Mexico, the cop in Globe, Arizona or the shoe salesman in Philly?

"Celebrity" is what you and I make it. Personally, I don't give it much credence.

Rhumb:rolleyes:

And here I was thinking you'd gone soft. Bravisimo. Now if you could just wipe off that white jizz and drag makeup you'd be set.

It's always sad when young people die, there's always room for change and it appeared she had turned the corner.
